New Nikon Cameras. 2160p HD possible...

2k resolution? pointless for most of us if you only output to the web.

I don't know about that, it'd be pretty crazy if this was true. Correct me if I'm wrong but there only be 30p??? What are they thinking?

But still ridiculous. I'm a photographer so I'm more impressed by the other specs. Once again, I'm not sure how true they will turn out to be...

im guessing it will be in their second update (so the update after the next one)

lol.

it is interesting though, and kinda cool in its own way. but i think if i were shooting above 1080p, i would just buy a red...

Yea, there's no reason to believe this story. Some of those specs may be close to what the cameras will be, but that would just be this guy making educated guesses to try and back up the rest of the bullshit he's spewing in this letter. I doubt that nikon is doing 2k.

Exactly what I was thinking. And about the 2k, it wouldn't really be cost-effective for Nikon to develop. Anyone who really needs 2k will probably not buy a DSLR.

if these specs are real though, thats insane. Some seam quite reasonable but others...no.

Haha like 201 AF points. And 12 FPS on a studio camera. I'm calling BS. The whole situation seems unreasonable. How did the guy remember all of these specs over a 3 hour conversation? Why was he in a restaurant for 3 hours? If Nikon does actually pull this off, I think it would surprise everybody.

i saw that yesterday and as sick as it sounds, like everyone else is saying i just don't think nikon would jump that much further from their current lineup and ever do 2k

Respectfully disagree

If Nikon does this they will probably be laughed at, no screens can support over 2k resolution anyways...the only thing that will be usefully about this is you will be able to crop your video w/o distortion

It's actually 3k, its the length they shorten with "2k, 3k, 4k" 1080p is basically 2k resolution.

it said something like 10,000 euros for the big time one, so like 15g i dunno, id wait for more reliable info to come out.

Since when does Nikon make it's own sensors?

They all of a sudden started making their own super awesome ultra sensors?

I call ultra super bullshit.

Yes, there's another unreasonable detail. I don't think there's any way nikon would make a leap from a 8000$ flagship body to a 15000$ one. Honestly guys, I would ignore this.

i wasn't really thinking about the 2160p or whatever. I was thinking more of expandable 12 fps.

Oh look, another marketing ploy using arbitrary big numbers. As if resolution independently determines image quality...

Besides, it's complete BS. Pay no attention.

aha a lot of that stuff was all backwards, D4x having a Foveon sensor(dumb idea , wont happen) d9000 being higher megapixel than a d4?? doesnt make sense

You're joking, right?

And even if this is true, if there is no 60p its fucking worthless.

haha

lets just chill at blue ray, 1080p and under 20mp for the general consumer... PLEASEi know there is 2k,3k,4k and 5k (i duno what RED is saying these days) and like 100101010MP but come on... we have what we need.

I'm still hoping Nikon started making their own sensors and thus will have 60p

But that article was a good laugh
