New Mt Hood Managment

Hey, so just wondering what other people who ride Mt. Hood Meadows regularly thought about the new management that hood is under? It seems to me that Meadows has been severely lacking this year. From only opening Upper Heather for may a week of the deep days, and there pathetic parks this year. Any thoughts?

yea there's another thread on this, but i ride meadows regularly and parks have been super super weak this year, they finally started to build the "superpark." two aight tables, but now despite the shitloads of snow they've gotten, there's a may challenge going on so if meadows doesn't get enough peeps showing up they might close any weekend

yeah dude
sooo much snow this year!!
but nothing to show for it, just a few extra rope lines.
hopefully they will build some bigger jumps soon but not looking good

I've had a blast in the parks up there this spring at least.

But it does seem a bit lacking when compared to what people have spoke of in the past.

yeah i hear meadows got a new general manager and i think iv seen him if i have hes a real ass

basically just read the blog on the meadows website (www.skihood.com) and then read some of the comments left and the responses to them. the fact that up until the end of April we were still getting snow and now theres a may challenge with 200 inches is an absolute joke and their lift schedule is bullshit too. it's pretty clear that they want to wrap things up and move on to summer those greedy bastards. The conditions are prime for park but theres a definite lack of park and now access is going to be a bitch with their lift operating schedual. It's extremely weak.

what does meadows do in the summer?

Its seems that over the past couple of years they've really lost touched with their younger crowd. They're seriously going to start losing people to the fusion pass. Not my problem though...

matt keeps saying in the blog that there is to much snow and they cant keep up with it when timberline gets the same amount of snow and their parks are sick
plus there is a new manager who limits the jumps to 45 feet

Word. New manager is a corporate douche. and they don't really do much up there during the summer except for chase people off the mountain who just want to hike and build kickers since the meadows staff apparently sucks at it this year.

it's fine to not be grooming the park in the middle of a storm, but places like blackcomb or mammoth usually have their parks re-groomed or rebuilt the day after. if meadows wanted to have good parks, they could, but i think they've made the business decision that it isn't that important to them. that's just my opinion, but that opinion comes from many years of skiing at meadows.

ya its been pretty weak. i have barely even been motivated to go.. it was kinda lame rainy weather all april.. instead of nice spring weather.. and meadows didnt have their shit together at all with parks or anything. last yuear there was a super poipe, suoper jumps, normal park, and progression park with rails boxes fucking all of it up on cascade and this year there are three very poorly designed 40 ft jumps.  lame lame lame. oh well though. im kinda ready for summer.. hopefully next year they'll hav their shit together a little better.. or i may just have to move to bend.

meadows doesnt seem to groom their parks very often.
If they do its in the middle of the day and they have a shovel and a rake and just block the park when they should do it in the morning. I dont really care at least they have parks and we have summer skiing to. So not that much reason to complain

I rode up the lift with the Chairman/CEO Chris Drake on Sunday, I tried to start conversation. But he did not seem all to interested. He also thought the park crew was doing a real good job.
