i listened to it for like 15minutes in the store. i was dissapointed. Its like they try to get the rhythem and aggression of old songs like battery but they can't get out of the re-load frame of mind. and in the old stuff the lyrics were pretty good, but now they seem forced... like they should say somehting but they don't know what to say so they say a bunch of stupid stuff. But i thought load sucked when i first heard it but its pretty good. not by old metallica standards though.

god damn it i listened to it and it was the worst piece of music ive ever heard

first off the recording they used was utterly horrid, sounded like they didnt have any treble, really muddy shitty distortion, and intros that were way too long for their own good

i could have shit on a sheet of music paper, and the stains that my shit had left would be better music than the shit metallica is trying to sell now

ok from a Metallica fan, the new song is the most horrendous piece of dog crap ever. I heard the song on the radio and I didn't reconize it right away., I remember thinking to myself 'ok this band can play their instruments but they aren't when there is any singing. They shouldn't even be on the radio.' and that song better not be what the whole album is like.

i think everything after the self-titled album was crap, load was a huge pile of shit, and reload was even worse. ive only heard the title track from the new album, and i didnt really like it all that much, who knows, the album could be good, but in my opinion metallica is way over the hill.

my freind got the new cd and let me listen to it today. It is horrible. The production is very bad and james's voice has turned to shit. all there pre black shit was incredible. i mean it was seriously amazing. But my biggest peeve about the new cd is no solos!!! hammett is an amazing guitarist and his only major role in the band is a solo guitarist and there anrt even any solos on the new cd. it sucks.

I've benn a Metallica fan for years and St. Anger isnt real metallica! the drum fills suck, the rhythm is simple, and there is no SOLOS! Wheres the talent gone? Metallica needs to stick to the roots which they created. If they wanted to try a different angle on their creativity, then they've gone off the deep end.
