just finished the first episode and it was inspirational to say the least. There were tons of really good survival tips and the highlight was amazing: He took water up the ass. Apparently you can do that if the water is too dirty to drink. anybody else see it? lets hear some opinions on the new season which is already off to an A+++++ start.

I guarantee if Les and Bear were given the same situation to survive, Les would own.

am I crazy or did i just watch a video of a grown man sticking a tube of dirty water up his ass while floating on a raft made of sticks in the middle of the ocean?
 
fine. i will bite. that is an untrue statement. he seems badass because he jumps off shit etc. he is able to do that because he has a camera crew following him around who could call for help/ help him/ have food and water. les stroud doesnt do crazy shit because hes actually trying to stay alive. if he falls and breaks himself hes actually fucked. hes actually out there
 
My argument is that Bear Grylls is trying to educate people on what they can do if they are lost, and how to escape extreme situations. i.e. Jumping in to quick sand/mud to show how to get out. And it also makes a better more entertaining tv show.
 
it IS more entertaining. i just like how Les Stroud is actually out there. and it kind of annoys me how man v wild is hyped as Bear Grylls being out there in the wilderness alone. my mom hates watching these shows because they eat rabbits and other shit
 
Ya its cool that he is out there by himself.

I just enjoy watching Bear, get himself in crazy situations then show how to get out.

ok. new idea. send them both out there. each with a camera. have them survive some situation together. oughtta be interesting. Bear would attack first but Les would kill him instead then eat him lol i love this thread
 
Bear doesnt even escape either, he just wanders around in the wilderness saying facts he is probably told to say by a team of researchers on site.
 
Anyone who actually knows about legitimate survival techniques knows that that show is completely ridiculous, and entertaining only in its absurdity.
