To anyone who uses ML, you should check out the newest release if you haven't already. I think it's from October. I accidentally deleted my old ML from one of my cards, so I just installed the new one. It's super easy to install now. It's been cleaned up and has some new features.
 
I don't see any reason not to install it. The new release is idiot proof. Download it, copy onto card, update firmware. BOOM your camera is instantly better
 
by the way ive looked it up, and read, but can someone tell me what makes it so useful and necessary
 
it turns your t2i or 60d or whatever into more of a camera made for video. zebras for exposure, focus assist, audio monitoring, kelvin white balance, etc. If you're not doing video it gives you a built in intervamoleter which is good for time lapses, not sure what other things it has for photos.
