so i just got back from the apple store drooling, im deff getting one next week with my grad money god i cant wait.

anyone else gettin one
 
the new macbook looks soo awesome. i don't like how they are making it in black though... that is SOOO PC. anyways stay white and stay mac.
 
yeah, new macbooks and macbook pros look awesome. doubt ill be trading in my 1.5 year old powerbook anytime soon though. but about the screens, how do glossy screens look/work on laptops? i dont think ive seen one before. I could see how it would be sharper and mroe clear but there have got to be drawback right? excessive glare and stuff?

The MacBook Pro has a larger screen, higher resolution display, faster processor, more RAM, larger hard drive, and the list goes on...

both are sick though. I wouldnt mind either.
 
I was about to buy a macbook pro but then the Apple guys told me it could be up to 7 years before Adobe releases a Mac/Intel specific version of After Effects. Heeelllllll naw.
 
for editing it could be perfect i love how the mic is up by the isight camera insted of down on the keybord

Do they have glossy screans or what, because I am not a fan of glossy screans. Also what is the difference beetween, the Macbook, and Macbook Pro? Thanks.
 
on the pro, the RAM is better, the processor is faster, the hard drive is larger and has a faster frontside bus.
 
apple just released final cut that will run natively on both power pc and intel based comps, so itll work on the new macbooks
 
ugh, i love mac, and im pumped that my dads design firm got new g5s so i got a old g4 from them with a 27 inch monitor for editing, but i worked my ass off to make enoguh money to get a 12' powerbook and 3 months later they come out with the macbook

i read an article about running xp on mac

they reported slightly higher photoshop performance running through windows xp than on a mac os version(CS2) not optimized for intel chips
 
at Wentworth they give all arch students powerbook G4's fully loaded with PS, and design programs. about $20000 worth.
 
should i get a macbook or an ibook........im not very smart on all the computer stuff...i want to use final cut tho and i noticed someone said that was available so that is good....what should i get tho?

i cant afford to switch to one,

it doesnt run macromedia studio 8 and i rely on the program so much, NOW COMMON ADOBE GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER SO I CAN SWITCH.

they dont run all kinds of shit, and i think thats gay, they should have stuck with power pc's

im stiking it oldschool with a powerbook
 
^ adobe isnt releasing a software package for intel based macs untill june/july 2007 which means your going to have to run old PS and any adobe program through rosetta which is proving to be suuuper slow. which is why im just getting a new powerbook for college next year and then switching over to an intel system after they work the bugs out of the system and release more software for it
 
Just a heads up on the macbooks...

If you plan on editing video with Final Cut or using Aperture, you must get the MacBook Pro! Apple does not support the MacBook because it has a craptastic integrated video card that steals memeory from the system.

You wouldn't even want to run the apps on the machine, Aperture espcially. It would run like shit since a good deal of the processing is done on the graphics card.
 
im a hypocrite. i just got a macbook pro today

it runs studio faster then my imac

its also nice to be on safari while rendering
 
macbooks are so fucking fresh, i just have the regular macbook and it is easily like 10 times better than my 2004 ibook G4. the widescreen is dope, the remote is dope and the whole front row program.
 
you know what else is so pc, about 90% percent of the parts in you apple are also commonly used in pcs. ah yes and the intel processor was first used in pcs.

the pros also have a seperate graphics card, not the integrated one like the non-pro. which makes them better. i think final cut may not run on the macbooks because of the lack of a true graphics card
 
my macbook has 2gigs of ram and i could care less about the graphics card iv never played a game in my life
 
you realize that you are paying like 100 dollars to get a black one instead of a white one, right?
