Stars of the Night ¼ Pipe Jam, March 1, 2003

Picture the scene:

It’s dark; music is pumping from dual stacks of giant speakers, feel the bass? There are people everywhere surrounding a huge white monolith of a ¼ Pipe built front and center in the Stevens Pass base village. All of the sudden a roar erupts when from out of the darkness above a rider comes screaming towards the face, as he flies in the air topping out around 20ft pulling the biggest grab anyone has ever seen the crowd absolutely loses it. Flash bulbs explode in the night air as the M.C. is calling the tricks and everyone is going off. As the riders finish the crowd picks a favorite, he/she is rewarded, then as if the floodgates were opened the crowd swarms the ¼ pipe as sponsors stand atop and throw out Schwagg to the excited mass.

Sounds cool doesn’t it? You want to be a part of it, don’t you? Well you can.

You may have heard about last year’s event through the grape vine, if you didn’t ask around anyone will tell you it was huge. Last year we threw it together and it was crazy, this year we really want to make this thing go off!

This event cannot happen without partnership. We are currently looking for the following partners*:

Title Sponsor:

Naming rights of event

Presenting Sponsor:

Presenting Status for event

Core Sponsor:

Core Status for event

*Rights and Privileges (R&P) for sponsor designations are not limited to the R&P listed. Full R&P descriptions per sponsor level can be obtained by contacting the Event Director.

What we need!

We need help to make this go off even bigger! Advertising, prizes, team riders and of course some cash to pay for the DJ, lights and hopefully fireworks! We had about 700 spectators last year and with a little effort we could double that this year.

It’s all about fun and pushing the limits of the sport!

This event was designed to showcase the talent of our local skiers and riders. We want to make it inexpensive for the riders/spectators, exciting and extremely fun. We limit it to 50 riders and the crowd picks the winner. Partners will be placed dead center in the middle of the action for everyone to see.

How can you/ your business be involved?

If this sounds like something you would like to support and would like to get involved you may contact Patrick Walker, Director of Special Events at (206) 812-4510 ext. 221 or pwalker@stevenspass.com. Don’t miss a great opportunity to be part of an event destined to become a Northwest classic. If you are not the one to make decisions like this please help us out and pass it on.

You're not going to find much here. Next year can the QP be a little steeper than 60 degrees? Pretty please.

Its not how good you ski, but how good you look in the lift line that counts.

Just trying to spread the word. Sounds like you were there? Not bad for a first try. We want to make this a huge thing for the NW. There aren't any contests that newschool locals can really brag about...yet. SPKA

I actually wasn't there, but I was in the pro halfpipe comp earlier in the day. The idea is super sick, but I just heard that the QP was a little under the weather.

Are you trying to make this event like The End's Board Stiff that used to be at Snoqualmie...that would be sweet too, there's totally enough room for a stage

Its not how good you ski, but how good you look in the lift line that counts.
