all your underground gods are pretty much doing the same shit. there isn't a whole lot of variation in content, style, delivery, etc. whereas whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit lil wayne definitely does his own thing and i respect him for that. lately i have really attempted to get into some more mainstream stuff like wayne and definitely gucci and im finding at the end of the day, i like their stuff b/c it rounds out my hiphop knowledge a bit and is appropriate for . this is coming from someone who is a big proponent of the purest forms of 90s nyc hip hop as well. i can pretty safely guess that i would laugh at the "true heads" in here who hate on lil wayne when they told me what they were into.
 
*appropriate for a party setting or just hanging out getting drunk with your friends* a lot of underground is just straight depressing and sucks for the above setting.

See, I liked that better than the original, but something still bothers me about it. I think it's mostly because of the content. Yes, he was wicked fast and some interesting lyrics, but nothing makes me want to listen to it.

I think my issue with Lil Wayne is that I feel like it's so repetitive. That's why I can't stand it.

 
His subject matter is lacking a lot recently, but at one point in his career his content was deeper and less repetitive, which is most likely the wayne that people are defending. I dont think anyone would defend his "rock" songs.
Hes probably released more shitty music than good music, but that all has to do with $$ and expanding his fan base.
 
There was no argument or point to be proven, I just found it on stumbleupon and thought it was funny, so I posted it and you overreacted.

i dont like his new shit or his pop shit or his rock shit...but i dont think that means i shouldnt like wayne all together...
he was putting out quality shit at one point...im sure you there are some musicians out there that you like, but at one point in their career release some doo doo album. im sure you wouldnt say that doo doo album defined their whole career.
