THERE WILL BE A PEAK TO PEAK GONDOLA ALJENFEJFSAMLAKCMAWMNOIDMNAWLKMDCALWKMLKAMD

The Experience

Whistler Blackcomb's boldest move yet. Twenty-eight sky cabins will travel 4.4 kms between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, offering unprecedented access to both mountains' expansive and unique high alpine terrain and spectacular views. The summer and winter experience at Whistler Blackcomb will be forever revolutionized.

Record Breakers

Longest unsupported span for a lift of this kind in the world at 3.024 km / 1.88 miles

Highest lift of its kind above the valley floor at 415 metres / 1,361 feet (above Fitzsimmons Creek)

Longest continuous lift system on the globe – Whistler Village Gondola – Peak to Peak Gondola – Solar Coaster – Wizard Express

Most expensive lift ever built in North America

Only gondola installation of its kind in North America.

“Most of our guests choose to ski either Whistler or Blackcomb Mountain each day. The Peak to Peak Gondola will link 8,171 acres of terrain into one continuous lift system allowing skiers and riders to maximize their day by moving quickly and effortlessly across the valley to the best snow and weather in each alpine area.” Dave Brownlie Chief Operating Officer of Whistler Blackcomb.

no, this is an enormous waste of money on a prestige project which will not even be included on a regular lift pass and will open no new terrain and offer no benefit whatsoever to anyone but rich tourists.

thats stupid, but if enough rich tourists pay for this it will pay off and not be an enormous waste of money and bring more money to the mountain to spend on parks and stuff and your lucky if you live in whistler anyway

still baller. new gondola will make it so the parks are only seperated by a 11 minute gondola ride instead of going all the way to the bottom. if you cant afford the higher and/or additional ticket prices thats no ones fault but you or your parents. sorry for your future losses, im sure whistlers not!

old news, but it's gonna be a stupid waste of money. They should help the park with a new chair first.

Oh my god! You know what? I think you may have picked up on something that the huge engineering companies designing this project have overlooked!

That lift looks mental. Scariest lift in the world. Imagine some rich old woman riding that for the first time, she'd shit herself.

i wouldn't want to go on that i get bad enough vertigo from high chairlifts.

seems like a bit of a waste of money, is there any need for it. I dunno, never been to whistler.

seems that they are only building it because they have the technology and they can afford it

This just in:

"Peak" to "Peak" Gondola doesn't actually link real Whistler & Blackcomb peaks together. In other important news, new Gondola is 100% irrelevant to 95% of riders at Whistler-Blackcomb, and no one cares, other than the fact that it's a huge waste of money that could be better spent on, well, just about anything else.

as if that couldnt happen anyways, by not being a lazy bitch and going to the bottom.

the part that pisses everyone off is that P2P ltd. (the sub company created for this project) received a 1.25M$ tax break because essentially they said it qualifies as a small business, so it is eligible for a tax break. council seems to have overlooked the fact that its actually intrawest/fortress...a company worth a couple billion. or they really are in Intrawests pockets, as much as they try to deny it.

maybe we'll get to see people doing Zip-Trek below the mid-way point. that would make it so worth it!

or you could quit being a little bitch about it, realize it's going to happen whether you like it or not, and find the positives.

wow they have been talking about it for a long time. but im impressed their actually going to do it. that would be one adrenaline ride. about 1500 feet at the highest point suported by a single metal rope.. i cant wait to ride it!

Dude, there are NO POSITIVES TO THIS. IT IS NEARLY 100% USELESS. Take it from the people who ride Whistler/Blackcomb, this "peak to peak" gondola is the epitome of "useless".

Or, they could've replaced Catskinner and Crystal, or opened new terrain, and actually improved the mountain. After symphony last year and now this, Whistler is becoming the new Grouse. I'll still pass there next year but I doubt I'll break 25 days, including spring.
