New lens help!

I'm looking at buying a new lens for my canon t4i. I have been filming with the kit lens for around a year and I'm looking for something that is gonna give me an edge. I've looked at the sigma 10-20 wide angle but it seems like lots of people use it. I'm looking for some that has a cinematic look but will still be versatile enough to film everything from skiing the skateboarding. My budget is around 600$ and I'm willing to buy used! Thanks

Why is this a bad thing? And a lens alone won't really give you a cinematic look, unless you just mean shallow DOF, in which case a 10-20 is not what you want. I'd get a telephoto before a wide angle since you already have the kit lens, check out a 70-200 2.8

If you're searching for a wide angle the new canon 10-18 is pretty good also and less expensive, but the 10-20 is really good too. If you're gonna film a lot of skateboarding and still gonna use your kit lens maybe a fisheye could also fit your needs?

if you're looking for something on the wide side, get the sigma 8-16. i got one recently and i absolutely love it. i've gotten cool shots of fireworks, wake surfing, skating, and other random stuff. for how wide it is you really can make anything look cool. i haven't used it filming yet, but i'm very excited to. i also have a t4i

Also lens character is vastly overrated and not apparent in 95% off all lenses apart from cinema lenes, Leica and old crusty Soviet stuff made from depleted uranium.

At which sigma 10-20mm were you looking, the f3.5 vor the f4.5-5.6 ?

I have the f3.5 and I think it's worth the extra money.

Rokinon 8mm-16mm is UNREAL all of our wideangie shots from this summer are filmed with that. And in our Summer Love edit Uncle Rian WORKS that wideangle with the side view shots. The lense is VERY crisp and is well worth the money from what I've seen. Also is your camera full frame or naw?

He doubt he wants lens advice from a person who doesn't know what the crop factor is of what's undoubtedly the most sold line of DSLR's in the world for the past decade.

First of all I meant the sigma 8-16mm and secondly I didn't read that he has t4i so obviously not full frame hahaha.
