I'm getting pretty tired of this layout and I'm thinking of making a new one... do you know any websites that have a layout that you totally love? I have what I think is a good one in my head... not sure how easy it'll be to do, but hey, why not.. but yeah.. if anyone knows of a wickid website, let me know and I'll take a look at it.

Hmmm...I'll try and think of some stuff but this is my ideas on the current design:

- I like the Naviagation set up, drop downs are good.

- The banner placement and all is good

- I don't like frames very much, I have no idea how, but if you could get the member list somewhere else I would love it. Acctually it would be best if in the corner of like every page there was a check box that said 'Online Window Open' and if it was checked all pages would have the frame like now, but if not it would load teh saem pages without the frame, so you can close and open it easily...

Here is a prototype... it'll be faster loading, use less bandwidth, be easier to edit, and it makes it possible to have custom templates so everyone can choose their own color scheme! Feedback please.

That looks pretty cool. Freeskiing.com actually has a pretty cool layout but I dont think its quite as good as NS. Still pretty groovey though.

yea i like this one just make a couple smaller changes, and keep it simple i hate freeridezone.com its like trying to navigate a damn space ship and its to hard to see. keep it simple i like that one above

That looks pretty cool, Im sure youre aware of this but dont make it too complicated. I really like the jibij.com site, pretty original.

I like this one, it's nice to have a change. That'll be cool if we could all pick our own color scheme.

yeah this is MUCH better!!! it's much smoother to look at, the page doesn't look so broken when the big ass frame was on the side with the scroll bar...could be because i am running like 1200 res too.

another thing i've noticed is that the online frame refreshes MUCH faster and smoother...it always sort of hung when it was reloading. I have DSL and don't have problems with simular designs so i guess either you cleaned up some of the code or it is just a more efficient design because you did say it was going to take up less bandwidth.

I think the new layout is alright I kinda liked the old one, this one refreshes a bit quicker. One question, where it says coming soon, what are those things going to be? Send to Friend=File Transfer?

I like it! Is it all baised on CSS? Becuase if it is there are some online baised CSS editors and people could customize their own NS themes...

That miniml thing is pretty clever, but would be TERRIBLE for NS... it's good to show smooth design, but not practical at all... in my opinion.

The 'Coming Soon' thing: Send to Friend means you can send a link of the current page to a friend.. so if there's a good forum discussion, for example, you can send the link to someone to read. The 'View Source' will allow you to see the PHP code for the current page. I'm in the process of making NS open source! That way, people can give input on making code better and such... I'm pretty excited about that, but I doubt too many people will care. :) The 'Go Back' thing will just be a little javascript function that will return you to the page you were at before.. it's like a back button... not sure why it's there really.

ahhhh I see...no way man, flash is good for some sites but I dunno about on here. I dont like how freeridezone did their whole site, it is sooooo confusing now!!!

flash would ruin this site... as for the miniml thing... you asked for a good menu, so I gave you the best that I know of....

integrate flash with html tho

not a hardcore flash site (those are gay and look like small applets rather than site)

make the messaging system and members list in flash

I was thinking of doing the members thing in flash, but quickly decided against it when I reliased I'd have to dynamically create links with flash using PHP... that = nightmare!

My online list doesn't get really big when I get messages.. hmmm... I'll try to figure out why it's like that.

i like the new alyout. leave it how it is. simple, well dressed, and attractive....it sounds like me but in a website....what more could i want!.............haha but seriously, i logged on and instantly creamed my pants due to my love for the layout. chang eit and you shall pay thy price!!!!!!!!!!!! thy price of DEATH!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I dig the new layout, but there is some suggestion knawing at the back of my mind... I don't know what it is... I'll get back to you.

Oh by the way this is totally random, but I was thinking the site could make some cash if you invested some money this spring and bought a couple pairs of skis for cheap, new 2002 Lines are going for like 100 bucks on eBay right now.. you could probably pull around 200% profit if you bought some now and sold them this fall... and if you advertised them over the site then you're hitting the biggest possible interested audience you could reach... just a suggestion.

Also- are you still interested in the Featured Rider idea? I'll msg you about it I guess.

yes flash integration with php would suck!

what about putting the whole message system in a pop up. same size as icq window but completely sepatte from site. then people could keep the ie window open and use it as a (html based)chat thing and not always have the site open. the little message popup thing could have a link directly to the site and make it so you can bookmark only the frame with messaging if you wanted just to see if anyone is online.

it couldn't be just plain html...it's nowhere near secure or stable or enough.
