New karma system

I'm pretty sure that almost anyone on NS who actually uses the karma system simply gives the person a 10 or a 0. I think just giving a thumbs up or a thumbs down would be a much simpler system. I've been on another forum that did this and you were actually able to thumbs up or down on that person more than once. It was caped and on rating per day but lets say somebody gives you good advice so you give them a thumbs up. next week that guy says something awesome in the forums and you go to thumbs up but you've already thumbs uped that person so now you can't.
 
Very good idea. I mean the idea of Karma is really silly. When i think of karma i think of you do something good and something good will happen to you in the future. And I dont really think that is how the NS karma system works. I really like the idea of thumbs up and down, becuase when i see a good and helpful post I do normally up the karma of the person, but that doesn't mean it increases their karma. For example if someone has an average user-user rating of 8.1 and i give them a 7 becase of a great post their karma goes down. Id much rather see...100 thumbs up or like 20 thumbs down would represent a negative amount and often times a shitty poster. Great idea Andrew!
 
yeah it sounds like a pretty logical way.i dont mind the current one, but that one sounds better
 
ya but essentially it wont be very different. We'll still have kids thumb downing other people just becuase that person didnt like the opinion the other person gave. and i actually like the karma system now. no its not perfect, but i think in most cases it does just fine.
 
Karma really doesn't matter, and it is a really complicated system that I'm sure they don't want to mess with anymore. It works, so let's just go with it. I don't find myself getting onto NS to look at peoples karma....
 
it doesn't really matter, you should be able to work out if someones legit or not.

because someones a douche on the forums doesn't mean that they're a bad seller or vice versa..

it works well enough as it is now imo
