Kanye released a new song featuring Paul McCartney on New Years. I think it is pretty good, kind of has an 808's vibe. Any body heard it? or want to use this thread to create a Kanye west Argument? Get at it you godless cretins.

I thought that your opinion could be valid, then I looked at your list of "Musical Interests", which was basically just all teenybopper high school garbage (with the exception of mac demarco).

I just looked back at that and i don't listen to any of that anymore except for kid cudi, schoolboy q, and mac demarco. hm i better change that.
 
hard to say. I didn't like 808's so I feel like I'm biased when I say I didn't like Only One. Looking forward to the rest of the stuff he is going to put out soon, but 808's was my least favorite album by far
 
it was meh. I'm a big kanye fan so i was hyped to hear the new stuff. I liked some of it and dig the meaning behind the song but the auto tune didn't do it for me.

Still stoked on new kanye tracks tho.

This Can't Be Life, Guess Who's Back, The Truth, The Food, and on and on.....Only person in that soul sample lane that might have a better back catalog is Dilla. 9th Wonder is tight, but since Dream Merchant I haven't heard anything.

I understand why people dislike Kanye as a human, dislike him as a rapper, and as a mega celebrity with baby political and social ideas, but the man has some absolute CLASSIC beats under his belt, anyone that says different doesn't like hiphop, hasn't done their homework, or lets their hatred for the guy color everything else.

inb4 everyone tells me about DJ Premier or like fucking Clams Casino or something.

This, although I'd still put Araabmuzik and Harry Fraud, ahead of Ye. Metro Boomin and Young Chop are creeping up there as well.

I enjoy hip hop. Albums like Madvillainy, 36 chambers and Ex Military are god tier, whilst Kanyes 'pop-hop' memerap is shit in comparison. He's a shit artists, but he can produce beats? He should stick to producing and being Jay Z's bottom bitch.

Araabmuzik and Harry Fraud both caught their big break in 2009 and have been NY mainstays ever since due to their versatility. They are not going anywhere.

We'll see about Metro and Chop though. I'm willing to bet that the two of them will last at least another 5 years.

I was talking about metro boomin and young chop not the other two. The other two actually have unique styles. Just about anyone can make a decent trap beat these days. They're hot right now but look at someone like lex luger. He rose to fame fast then everyone copied him and now doesn't really have a presence. Metro, young chop, london on da track, jahlil beats, zaytoven, sonny digital, and dj mustard are just a couple that lead the genre but pretty much make the same beat over and over. Their styles are too one dimensional at this point for them to stand the test of time imo. Look at hit boy for instance. Blew up real quick but never really grew out of his original style and people got bored and moved on.

Can't agree with Jahlil, dudes multi-faceted as fuck. So is Metro, So is Chop. Lex wasn't. Zay never has been, but that's why people love him and why he's been an Atlanta mixtape circuit mainstay for 10 years now.

Chop isn't Trap. Metro is more experimental than anything. DJ Mustard has nothing to do with them.
