Their new song called Drive slow uses the beat from Atmosphere - Everthing Is Anything... im guessing they bought it, they used it pretty good, but why cant some people think of there own shit? I think beat buying is kinda stupid, ruines the old songs the beat used to be in.

there's also an eminem song that sounds very similar to both of these songs. i forget what its called though. off shady lp i believe

come on man, what song has kanye done that didn't have a sample from someother song? He's the king of the sample, it can't be a surprise

and on another note, i remember hearing that beat before being on atmosphere i think it was on an old wu-tang CD, or snoopdog, but i cant remember it's not originally done by atmoshere or dynospecturm as some of you call it... yah it dates back a long time ago.. liek when i was like 5 or so, and i'm 18 going on 19 now

ya its called sampling. kanye i learned yesterday was a fan of curtis mayfield and used some of his stuff in beats. and by the way that is the worst song on the cd

Yeah Kanye, Atmo and Tupac too used that sample and the songs all sound sorta the same... it's just samples

hiphop derived from mixing, sampling and dubbing. you name pretty much any hiphop group and I bet somone can find a song, beat or sample ripped from somone else...don't really like thoes guys but like ATM, but I am not goning to sweat it.

I'm pretty sure Ant produces all the Atmosphere shit because without him Atmosphere would just be Slug...

ok kiddies, school's in.

First off, the sample used was Hank Crawford's "Wildflowers."

As GHST said above, 2Pac was actually the first to use the sample (1996). Peep "Shorty Wanna Be A Thug."

Shortly after came "Anything is Everthing" by Atmosphere ('98, I believe?).

Kanye then used the same sample for "Drive Slow."

get ya mind right.
