New Ipods to be announced Sept 5

i agree. cant use buttons when in your pocket/shitty battery life/if you need widescreen movies on the go, you really need to get a life.

looking at battery life, your statement is completely false. The iPhone (most likely the same size screen as the new iPod touch) has a battery life for listening to music of 24hours, and video is 7hrs. So it is safe to assume that the new iPod touch will have the same specs (24hr audio, 7hr video). in other words, the longest battery life of any competing mp3 player with video, including the current iPod video.

and just take the shit out of your pocket

that is true BUT if they put that battery technology in say the current ipod video or nano, it would last multiple times longer than the iphone(maybe 72 hours audio 21 hours video).

who the hell needs to look at there album art when selecting a song? i personally just want a simple music player. but thats my opinion. and btw the ratings do not include realistic settings. turning the back light on every few minutes to change song/volume/or pause will not last 24 hours. i dont see why everyone is getting so upset haha.

not getting angry, simply pointing out the wrong parts of your argument.

what you say about the battery probably not lasting that long is true, but universal for all mp3 players. but whether you get the nano, the current iPod video, or the new iPod touch, they will all get roughly the same battery life (current iPod video is a little less).

it sounds to me like you need to just buy a nano, or maybe even a shuffle. just because it doesn't fit your needs doesn't mean it is not a sick machine

My Dell pocket DJ still kills it with 10 hours of battery life, and its almost 3 years old. that thing is so sick, the screen is barely scratched, i can drop it, or do whatever to it, and it still plays great. Dell actually made a high quality product with their MP3 players. Do they still make them? i wish it could have played video, and have a bigger hard drive, but i got it when the color i pods were coming out.

k, lets see here...i listen to my 80 gig 2006 ipod video 8 hours a day for 5 days straight...then charge on a saturday, listen on monday - friday again, thats way more than 24 hurs battery life

Yeah I have a dell DJ, the original one before they came out with the mini, and its still sitting in my glove box of my car ready to use at the flick of the turn on button. But the thing is, it has had full battery life ever since I have got it, (meaning when i charge the time doesn't decrease it is always been full--that makes no sense) anyway...I have an IPOD shuffle that proboly gets 16 hours of music easily. Because I remember one day I left my ipod on in the car and I didnt drive until night and it still worked. Anyway...get an ipod shuffle. They are dope!

arent ipod batterys horrible? i bought a nano and now its battery dies after only a few trips to the gym, ive given up on ipods and moved onto a zen

I once had an mp3 player that had a 32 hour battery life. It was sick, then I broke the screen and the click button so I threw it out.

not gonna lie

im a little dissapointed to hear what the new ipods are going to be capable of.

i figured after the iphone they were going to blow the roof off with the new ipods.

essentially, whats the difference between the iphone and the new ipods? wireless communications.

and now whats the difference between the current ipod video and the new ipods? the buttons.

if you ask me apple has too many products that do pretty much the same thing. and they release their stuff so close to one another that one product kinda obsoletes the other.

personally im waiting for the ipod to come with a wireless modem that will allow you to link directly to itunes and download straight to your ipod. you could download music, movies, tv shows, all wirelessly and all on the go.

until they make a moderate step forward with the ipods i certainly wont be replacing my video, exspecially for the sake of just having a touch sensitive one.

I've yet to find a good, durable mp3 player. Everyones into bigger and shinier screens nowadays. I'd rather have a durable ipod that doesnt get scratched to hell than one with a huge screen.

well shit

watched the ipod launch video lastnight and turns out that it is wi-fi compatible and you can connect to itunes and download on the go, and browse youtube, and full access to safari.

so i change my mind, i am impressed.

however 8gb and 16gb models is kinda interesting???

Ha Ha....Apple dropped the 4GB Iphone and lowered the price of the 8GB Iphone to $399. I am glad I waited a very short while to get the 8GB. Now I save $200!

hahaha people who bought the iphone when it came out got fucked ahahaha. i still don't have an ipod and am glad. they seem to be real shitty for the first model, and then drop price and get better in a few months everytime. ima wait till nov-dec to pick up a nano. and i will never buy an iphone unless i get rich and have two phones, the other one is for when my bling bling heavy ass iphone breaks.
