From what I gathered from their Philosophy page, I think it's about supporting 'Freeride' in general. The guys on their team, like a lot of us on NS, don't just ski. When it's not snowing, we're out riding mountain bikes, dirt bikes, or BMX or surfing. So I think it's just about supporting the freeride culture that we all live.
