what do you guys think is absolutely necissary to have on your computer. im thinking:

-aim

-google toolbar (popupstopper i think)

-winrar (maybe)

-divx player (i think it works with all formats, or not?)

-foldershare

-nero(maybe to burn cds if i get my burner up)

-photoshop

and i dont know what else i need. what should i get or remove from this list?

i need some virus protection software. whats the best? and i think ill get opera. i liked that a lot when i used to have it and i guess its a popup stopper from what someone just said.

^ i use zone alarm for firewall, norton for antivirus, and google toolbar (along with ad-aware and spybot) for pop-up blocking and spyware.

I've yet to need anything other than these programs and my system has never been infected or compromised. And, they are all free downloads. Actually, i don't remember if norton is free. it came with my O/S. But, if you're firewall is configured correctly, and you have good web habites, you should never need norton.

this is what i use and i do have program installation files, so if you need them lemme know.

- ie

- aim (which include wheather bug)

- foldershare, kazaa lite ++ (for music/porn, no spyware included)

- winamp (listen to music, and it's pretty much invisible)

- windows media player, real player + quicktime, divx codec (videos)

- cdex (putting cds on my comp in mp3 format)

- nero/easy cd creator (burning)

- WS FTP/ Cute FTP (ftp client, always handy)

- adobe premiere (video editing)

- adobe photoshop (photo editing)

- macromedia programs (flash, dreamweaver, etc)

- high grow (marijuana growing game, lemme know if you guys want this)

- and jibberish IF IT WOULD WORK ON MY GOD DAMN COMPUTER!
