New Gus Kenworthy/Tom Wallisch summer edit

DTF[/b]/images/flash_video_placeholder.png stop using such a high shutter speed in all your edits, it looks weird and your edits would be a easier to watch

There's no rule about that. Zac knows how he wants his footage to turn out and he shoots it accordingly. Some people might prefer their ski footage to exagerate motion and movement while others prefer it to look super precise.

I didn't say there was a rule.....sure theres the 180° "rule" but thats not what I'm focusing on. Its just so much easier on the eyes when shits not at 1/500 or more, its hard to separate the skier from the background in tele tripod shots, and panning around someone with a glidecam just looks weird without the background fading away into a blur behind them, and thats 90% of Zacs shots anyway

someone said theres a quote from Zac "I don't like motion blur it looks icky" not sure if thats true or not but if it is he should learn to appreciate it, so his stuff doesn't looks so "digital" and weird on the eyes

you don't have to apologize haha its obviously up to you they are your edits. I just personally think they would look a lot better if you slowed it down a bit. "Sloppy" looks a hell of a lot more natural, just take a look at any of the Stept edits

What's the point of making your edits look like someone else's? I don't understand how its so hard for you to watch, get your head out of your ass.

Stept isn't the only one who uses a slow shutter, that's just one example...and like I said they are Zac's edits he can do whatever he wants but I just made a suggestion

Hands down best park edit I've watched this year. The filming could have been better, but song choice and skiing blew me away.

I've probably watched this edit 30 times in the last 2 days.

Super sick, and very nice work.

Also, excellent song choice!

It's my new favourite song!

haha

I'm sorry that me making a suggestion about something little like shutterspeed to someone else makes you this uncomfortable, but Zac saw it, didn't agree and can do whatever he wants since they are his edits after all....the only "little prick" I see is you for giving me shit about this, so can we please drop this its clear no one likes my suggestion

I thought the filming was on point. Great work Zac. The part in the edit that messed with my ears a little bit though was the wind noise at 2:06 on the cork 9 follow cam...Like some of the other clips it shouldve just been without sound in my opinion.

nah....you were playing the "I know a lot" role and trying to big time somebody infinitely more talented than yourself.

Take 5, hit a lap, stare in the mirror for a while, and pull it together.

nah bud, I was simply making a suggestion that Zac could choose to look into or ignore, and suddenly everyone jumps on it like I'm forcing it on Zac or something. Heath uses a slow shutter just like I'm talking about in a lot of his edits and still gives me shit I don't get it

when I say "hard to watch" all I mean is like I said an example is on tele tripod shots with fast pans its hard for eyes (my eyes at least) to separate the skier from the background without any motion blur to separate whats moving and whats not

"trying to big time somebody infinitely more talented than yourself. Take 5, hit a lap, stare in the mirror for a while, and pull it together."

go fuck yourself, I know what I'm talking about

Zac said he doesn't like motion blur so please stop

Doesn't matter if you read on a forum that using 180 degree shutter creates film like motion blur and is more appealing. You keep playing this off like you didnt do anything wrong, but you were playing the know it all and tried to be cool and call someone out who is much more talented than you are. Just stop posting.

FYI I use a higher than "normal" shutter. Im not some film look whore like you are.

Maybe it's my computer, but is the audio (stomp sounds) slightly off for anyone else?

Dope edit Mr. Moxley, and if it matters, I prefer shooting at high shutter speeds too

Don't challenge Eheath and his filming skills or Zac's.

I know this may sound like BS, but Filmmaking is about creativity, and making something different, sometimes following the same path as others may work in life, but in filmmaking it doesn't. Zac has his own way of doing things, just like Eheath and all other filmmakers have. They have a right to make things that may seem kind of Out of the box to you, but the truth is, they're pros, and to them, they couldn't care less about what one person thinks about their work.

I don't follow the 180 degree rule because my D5000 doesn't have manual shutterspeed unfortunately"FYI I use a higher than "normal" shutter. Im not some film look whore like you are."

I'm just going off edits like Daydream, the part with Karl you can really see it on the rails and it looks great. How the fuck am I a "film look whore"? I go off what I see in edits and in my own footage, not what some forum says.

Long lens + going fast as fuck = blur. my shutter was probably at 1/250 or 1/188 but yeah, i know what you're saying.
