Anybody installed it yet? I'm scared too it seems complicated, but the UPd feature is sick. and one button will make it so your friends cant mess up your perfect settings

It doesn't seem that hard, just download the .bin file, drag and drop to the SD card, put the SD card back into the gopro, hold down the shutter button, press the on button once, continue holding the shutter button, and press the on button 3 times until it turns itself off. Just follow the instructions in the video, it shouldn't take to long. I'll probably do it later tonight.

yeah, but one mistake and your camera could get fucked. I guess just pay attention to the videos and your set. I'm gunna do it this evening

and focused on the single button to operate, it sucks to turn on and off the filming when you're more focused on skiing than on filming....
now 1 button, on/off (on and immediately start filming, or off)
:)

there are new PAL formats. can anybody tell me if i can still use 30fps/60fps with the new update or can i only use 25fps/50fps after i updated?

are they ever going to release the backpacks? or the wirst mounted screen, or the external mic, or ANY of the things they said they would?

they say you have to load your cam 100% before updating. anybody updated the firmware without loading it completely?

threadjack-ish
what is the benefit of waiting for the gopro 960? it says the backpack accessories are backwards compatible with the hdhero.

i installed it 2 days ago, super sick. doesnt change any settings, just resets them. very easy, and everything went smoothly

I'm pretty stoked on the New Firmare myself. Shouldn't be too hard to install but we'll see how that goes in the next day or so

live view out is sick, but it doesnt seem like you can use the case, which would be useful for mounting to stuff, still very cool

theres coming a semi opened case that allowe you to leave the camera in the case with the AV cables plugged in....
obviously it won't be waterproof anymore tough :)
