I just got the new issue with Jon riding the huge drum on the cover. I read the article about the man and he was bashing tanners style, along with others, calling it 'monkey style.' I didn't like how Jon said that people should ski the right way, cause there really isn't one correct way to ski. I agree that you should get the basics down, but im sure the other pros he was bashing are good enough at just skiing to have their own style. Thats just my opinion, i wanna know what the rest of you have to say.

I havent got the new freeze yet, but I do agree with you, there is no right way to ski...except they should ban Nordic.

I kinda agree with him, I mean why is everyone always trying to copy, wether it's the gorilla style, or the gangster thing, or all that other stuff, why cant people just come up with their own damn original shit instead of ripping off someone else who had a good idea. Pollard has his style, why dont these guys try to come up with their own. That's what I like about guys like Larose, Belanger, Pep, Pollard, JF, Candide, Jon, they all have their own unique style, like you could tell these guys apart doing jumps if all of them were just dressed in black, cause you can see there own stlye and how they ski. Same with the gangster thing look at Tanner in 13 or Area 51, then look at him in Happy Dayz, it's like all the sudden he's yo, he ripped it off snowboarding. Just be original, this is just my opinion.

I just wanted to add that even Jon has his own style and so i find his commments a little hypocrytical. Eventhough, he's still a kick ass skier.

i think it would be interesting if there were a few more tele-jibbers... i think there's potential there for some really unique style. i've never tried it, i'm sure it's wicked hard though

At least he's being honest. But yeah, that's pretty lame to be knocking other people's style when it's just how they ride. Tanner's shit looks just as good as Jon's. Not better or worst, just different.

Fucking just think tho. Tanner and Raps were pulling the same 'I OWN SKIING' bullshit in the Spring/Summer issue of freeze. Tanner and Raps were completely ripping on other athletes as well.

Too much hate within the ski industry.

Your right SkierX. I think its innevitable that pros will have their own opinion on how skiing should be. We're probably ananlyzing this way too much, but pros gotta realize people are reading the magazines and what they say is gonna be seen word for word.

i thought it was a tight issue...jon wasnt really bashing it tho, hes just grew up racing and doesnt want to be exactly like snowboarding...im sure he has nothing personal against tanner

 
I dunno about you guys but all this shit aobut style is pissin me off. WHO CARES HWO U SKI. AS LONG AS YOU ARE HAVIN FUN. i mean, one persons style might seem cool to one person but to another person it may seem really ugly. It really doesn't matter. And i wouldn't expect Jon to say that.

hummm you all complain saying why jon ripped on someones 'style' but what else do you people do in here other than criticize everything that th pro's do. umm yes since tanner was really young in '13' no wonder he wasnt acting all ghetto...and untill you actually know the kid dont rip on him
