New foils or SPK

what are the differences between the new foil boots and the SPK's what im hearing is they are pretty much the same boot.

and are there advantages of only having 2 buckles on the spk?

im deciding between the two, im getting boots as a bday gift tomorow so i need to know by tomorow the pros and cons of each boot. and preferances. i also have a pretty wide foot.

spk is made to be a park specific boot, it was made for wider feet like yours and nnice and flexy for the park. it is also really light

it isn't all that flexy. It has the same flex index as the gun boots which are for all mountain. they are a pretty good all around boot, much better out of the park than everyone thinks. The only reason I'd see to get the foils would be cuz they're cheaper, otherwise the spks are where it's at.

so the SPK is lighter than the foil? what about construction, which one is more comfortable/warmer for the people who have tried them or ridden them

they have the same flex of 85. the foil was designed for mainly park and all mtn. the SPK was designed for mainly park. bbut from what i hear it is a pretty nice all mtn. boot

the spk is not a wide fitting boot, its mostly medium, the foil seemed a lot wider to me than the spk

they are very similar. spk doesnt have the honeycomb construction thing that the foil has that was mentioned about, but spk is much, much lighter. it has some newly developed boot shape specifically for the spk and the falcon gun.

The point of the spaceframe construction is to distribute the flex pattern across the outer arch of your boot, both boots have the technology, just different methods of application.

what about the 2 buckles on the SPK. would that provide enough rigidity for the boot to hold your foot in place?

Just bought SPK's last night and I tried on the Foils too and I though the SPK's were much more comfortable than the Foils. Plus there is so much friggin padding on the shin and spoiler of the SPK for when you jibbing.

spk is lighter, more comfortable, and you can replace the toe and the heel when they wear down wo you still have the same hold in your bindings

i ended up getting the Foils. the SPK's were sold out and they werent getting annother shipment in a while so im kinda bummed about that :/

oh well the foils are still pretty sick

no... you smell a super light park boot designed from the ground up. or I just made some popcorn, maybe you're smelling that.

i just tried them on today and the foil is wide but the spk fits nice and tight, and i have skinny feet and they feel nice. i own the foil but i want the spks

ok I've had 4 days on my spks now and they are SICK. so fun everywhere on the mountain. If they fit you and you can afford them by all means, get them.

thanks for all the imput guys, i ended up getting the FOIL boots. the SPK's were a tad bit pricey at the shop i bought my stuff at, plus they gave me a killer discount on the FOILs for some reason.

i wore them once, they were amazingly comfortable. only problem is there is no more snow to SKI!!!
