New fischer skis: like a boat!

wow, thats a super innovative idea. i bet it works really well to keep you afloat in super deep stuff.

and k2 pontoons should use this. it just makes more sense.

Totally, i think that they should keep the pontoon the same for Shane, but also make a new version with the crazy prow thing and call them cruise liners or aircraft carriers or something.

Wait What?No it won't think about it all this will do is make your tips heavier and for fischers thats really heavy. Tips are already curved up to keep you afloat all the "boat" thing will do will make your skis go straight better in deep snow, Like a fin. THey're probably super hard to ride on anything that isn't deep powder and probably aren't very good/fun for that either. Especially if you like to turn quick and butter.

It will probably make you turn easier. When a boat turns, it rolls. there are boats that have no deadrise (angled hull) and they have nothing to roll onto so turning is not as good. It probably also does not effect on trail skiing either because you will roll off it during a turn. It will help in pow by supplying more lift and spreading the snow off to the sides. When a boat is moving through the water, it gets up on plane, which is when the boat lifts off the water leaving a smaller portion of the boat in the water, hence creating less drag and creating more speed, better handling, and a better ride. This is a very plausible idea and I would lie to try it.

2010 watea 101s are dope shit!

they ski a hell of a lot narrower than they actually are. surprisingly enough, i was able to rip icy steeps and carve trenches in the spring snow back in march.

this contradicts the whole fat ski motion, you want ta plane over the snowdeck, prows are for cutting through it, this is exactly what you dont want to happen....you dont see surfboards with prows either...
its a sick idea, but its unnecessary for skis imho...

correct me if I'm wrong but last year fischer made a ski called the duke and it had a prow like a boat and this strange fin on the bottom like a surfboard but they were pretty skinny

It was called the 207.

the 207s had a weird fin at the end kind of like a surf board but i don't think it had the prow like these new wateas

I rode some Jeremy Nobis Dynastars with prow tips a few years ago, and couldn't tell any difference in flotation, but they could charge through anything. My uncle swears by prow tips though, he won't buy anything else.
