New Fernie Mountain?!?!?!?!?

Hey guys,

Over the summer I've heard some crazy rumors that Fernie is going to have a completely new resort somewhere....other places i've heard that they are going to expand the current resort. I'm just wondering if anybody knows anymore info about this (actual info and not bullshit)
 
That would be so sick but i haven't heard anything about it. I did however hear something about someone planning on building a huge resort in the crowsnest pass called sentinel or something, I heard it was supposed to be bigger than Lake louise. I think that its a dumb idea though to build a hill in the crowsnest pass cause it blows like hell and doesn't get nearly as much snow as castle. It would be way better to build a big hill at fernie.
 
check out the forums on www.biglines.com they seem to be in the loop a lot more. they have been talking about it for awhile now. i heard lift tickets at louise and fernie are supposed to be around $80 a day so people are starting to look at other options
 
That would be sick if they built the new Fernie mountain across the valley. So us doggers in the trailer parks can have thur ski area aross the valley too.
 
Do you live in the trailer park right beside the modular homes near the aquatic center?, cause if that's the case i might be right next door
 
ok heres the deal

the guy who used to do fernie and sold it has a shit load of mmoney and has a rediculose idea to build a new hill but if it happends it wont be for a while (20 yrs), dont get too excited

global warming isnt proven so yeah. but on another note i will be up at fernie opening weekend my prediction is its goign to be packed
 
errr well i have to disagree...its +12....i think thats good enough evidence, like going from -30 to in the +'s....makes a person wonder
 
ok you fucktard you have to seriously be in grade five or something. First of all, it is not +12 today, i'm pretty sure the high was around -2. I don't think it was +12 yesterday either.

2nd of all this is calgary. The weather changes happen all the time. We are inland of a whole bunch of mountains and storms blow off the pacific, dry out and create a warm westerly flow of air. These are called chinooks. We learned them in grade four or five. You may not have been listening, what with your stupidity and all. Chinooks have been known to be able to increase temperatures by 25 degrees celcius over a short period of time, even as short as 24 hours. Either you just moved to calgary or you are a complete fucking idiot. I am leaning towards the latter. By the way chinooks have been around a while in case you didn't know, they were not caused by global warming. The word "chinook" means snow eater in blackfoot.

3rd of all knob, this should not be evidence enough for you anyhow. The increase of temperatures over a few weeks, even a few years means little in regards to global warming.

And I close by repeating a statement I made earlier, in this same forum. "You are a fucking idiot"

and your profile says you live in cochrane. That is calgary pretty much. You should be familiar with our weather patterns.

Ok back to the first topic. I believe it is the old owner(a couple back the one that didnt let development happen) that wants a new hill. He hand cut all of the runs he had, so it may take a while if it goes at all. If it haooens it is said to be further away from fernie past FAR on the way to crandbrook
 
i donno im not that informed but maybe that 'new fernie mountain' might be the one that they're making in revelstoke...could that be it?

the only thing i've heard about it is that they're thinking of expanding into all of the area up to the island lake lodge territory. But there's a ton of issues with insurance and investors obviously, plus I heard something about plans to put in some kind of avie control system that would be a whole lot more precise than bombing. All rumours of course, and it'd take years for anything to happen, but it would be sweet it this was true.
