New event idea for X games

After watching a live stream of the dual moguls at Deer Valley a few weeks ago, and seeing how huge the crowd was, how big the skiers were going off the jumps and how insane it was to watch, it occurred to me that dual moguls could be worthy of a spot at X Games - except with a twist. Instead of the heavily restricted and stale moguls format we know today, change it up to encourage style and fresh tricks on the jumps, with no restrictions on doubles and extra points for creativity. A scoring breakdown of 25% jump style, 25% jump technicality (inc. grabs), 25% turns and 25% speed. Does anyone else think this would be worth watching? Any suggestions for how it could be even better?

Here is a video of doubles being thrown in training on moguls jumps. I think it's sick and I'd love to see more of it.

Deer Valley is really the only world cup thats rowdy and its because its park city.

Probably not. Nothing against mogul skiing, it's sick to watch, but I feel like it has a different mindset and culture than park skiing.

I'd be down if alcohol was the only thing mandatory other than dropping switch.

I'd get rowdy for that.

I second both of these motions.

Well, it does right now, but the old freestyle scene was way bigger and rowdier than the current freeski scene. There use to be more money, drugs and pussy in that sport than you could shake a stick at. Just because it's that way right now does not mean it can't be big again. Plus duels is just fun to watch. A couple years ago when Jon did the JOI/ dual race event I bet it was way better for spectators because of non-stop action.

Duals is super fun to watch. The current style scene was born in the moguls. Imagine Tanner and Candide going head to head in a moguls event like this? That'd be so sick

Tanner, Dumont and some other dudes once competed in the Paul Mitchell Bumps and Jumps where, to my recollection they competed in an event that was like moguls-mogul jump-rail-big air jump or something it was pretty dope if you can find the video.

This was all I could find but the moguls comp I described above was duels btw and narrated by Mosely so it was pretty much the best.

BAC of 0.1 or higher is definitely compulsory

"Hernandez said familiarity with the moguls likely gave him an advantage on Saturday, especially coming in and out of the jumps, but his baggy pants may have cost him an additional $10,000 in the duals competition.

Heading into the final air, Hernandez reached down to pull his pants up, lost momentum and took a spill on the landing, but he left the mountain pleased to have heavier pockets."

Hahaha lost it at this.

This comp sounds pretty sick, would love to see the footage

I thought that duals consisted of five judges: one speed, one air, two turns, and one overall...

You need to keep that 'overall impression' score in there and I'd note that grabs need to be considered for both style and tech.

I think the event you are pushing for would be best suited to have five judges: one speed, two air, one turns, and one overall.
