I was looking on that other thread about the jersies. If uniqueness is what we are going for, scarves are unique, but are kinda fruity, but i was thinking it would be sick to get New Era to make Liberty hats... DC has done it in snowboarding, but no ski brand has had New Era make their hats...
 
^ pretty cool idea. Wonder if there is an order limit though? like, since it is such a big thing, you would imagine that you would have to order a minimum of like 5,000 or some really big number.
 
D-structure and Axis boardshop are making some, im sure its doable, a lot more expensive than the trucker we are making, but one SICK thing for sure.... If this idea ever gets done, we should get the graphic discussed in here to make it the sickest as possible!!
 
New Era requires a very large minumum order that we would not be able to fulfill. DC can afford to produce a million units as they ship to sooooo many stores across the US.

I would love to make some sick Liberty New Era caps, but it would take a lot of distribution.
 
just how big do the orders need to be?dont go spreading this, but enom is making them this year too, and i dont think they can afford huge orders of stuff...it would be worth looking into seriously, it might not be as unrealistic as you think
 
I have spoken with some people at New Era, they told me they will not do any quantities less than a thousend, and it is really expensive, like $20 a hat, which menas we would have to charge $35-$40. Too much for now.

I would love to push for this, perhaps we can get it going in the next few years.
 
There are othe companies thta make hats quite similar to what the new era hats look like. Mabey looking into that would be good. Possibly a cheaper alternative to something almost as dope. Just a thoughcuz I love the idea of a hat like that.
 
Actually, my friends dad owns a company that cam make any flexfit hat with any design on it just like new era... I could give him a call and see wha he can do... i talked to him about making hats for liberty 2 months ago and i completely forgot about it. but he said it was a reasonable price to get a bunch made. ill get more info tho.
 
It would be great if you could forward me the info. I have a ton of contacts in the swag business and it's always nice to get more. And I'm the one ordering all of the stuff anyway. Thanks! :-)
 
New Era makes all the caps for Major League Baseball as well as the "Official Team Apparal" for every major athletic team in every major sport.

The main appeal of these is the exceptional quality. The shape of the hat is the best ever, and the sizes are right on. The New Era cap will keep its shape for much longer than say a flexfit brand.

Also, New Era specializes in new/original styles and color schemes. They can basically do anything. I personally own 12 New Era Yankee hats that are all different color and style. They are the best you can buy.
 
^ yes and making New Era Liberty hats would get us a lot of attention... but we have to make it a dope color scheme/design/logo if we do do it
 
Its also a great idea because making the trucker hats we have right now is cheap, but giving away 5 New era hats to an event will get us 5 hats out there, giving 20 of those trucker hats will end up being 20 trucker hats laying in someone`s room...
 
well realistically it would be a tough investment to justify, however this is the kind of thing that companies wil be doing, and that will catch on, and its kinda a cool oppurtunity for liberty to get in on it...as you pointed out julien, those trucker hats look goofy and are more or less just something to toss out to a crowd, but i never see them getting worn around...doing something like this would get some good buzz goin around for liberty, and is exactly the kind of thing that the company needs..personally i know its a stretch, but i would defanitely be amped to see it happen
 
Your right saying its an "investissement" and not an expense. This would show that we somehow are serious, a few bucks well invested in the image of the company!
 
for sure^ something like this might cost a little more coin right now, but thats how businesses work. This would be a pretty effective way in my eyes to get some positive hype for the company...liberty doing this first could be huge
 
We could even sell those the price we are paying them, no need to make cash on those, just use them to make a publicity shot!!! It sounds really doable... Lets just make sure the designs are cool tough!!
 
^ that brings me to a question? anyone started on any designs? i think ones with pinstripe would be dope. like, red with navy pinstripes or something. or just black and white. i dunno.

new era (type) hats are sick. . . and different and wonderful.

it's super important that the design is cool enough to make the investment worth it!
 
Im assuming that you give the logo to new era and they propose different color schemes and then propose you different looks..
 
i think you help design the whole thing... i've found some really sick ones...

yea it is a really good plan... but we gotta get a good logo with good colors. The star could be alright, but maybe something else, something new? i dunno?... but my vote right now for one of the color scheme is SKY BLUE/BROWN!!!! hasnt really been done, and it looks sick. Other good ones are Black on Black, Tan on Red, pinstripes, other designer designs, LV, Gucci...etc just go to www.hatland.com and search around MLB teams, they got good schemes since New Era makes custom hats for Hatland... but SKY BLUE/BROWN FOR SURE!!!
 
^ it's not as easy as "do it".

New Era has their own standards which are very selective. They are in the position to choose their customers and they intentionally limit the number of new clients they have. It's not like any joe can order caps from them.

Their production right now is really tight. Also, our budget for stuff like this is pretty tight as well.

The idea of making a cap like this is indeed quite sick, and I have a contact person at New Era, so I will keep you informed as to the info I get.

It's something that we can keep talking about and maybe down the road, we can make it happen.

from a business perspective, if we can front an investment for these, we can have them for years. Think about it, we can buy a thousend hats and continue to sell them for YEARS!!! THESE WILL NOT GO BAD IN THE FRIDGE!!

I pretty much only wear these type of hats, as I mentioned before, I am obsessed with the Yankees, and I have like 12 different hats with more on the way. I will continue to wear New Era pretty much exclusivly so it would be great to rep Liberty a bit rather than just our beloved sports teams.

I also agree with Julien, people will wear the New Era Liberty cap and not throw them in the closet, car, or trash like the trucker hats.

I think if we can start with some good hats in the next few years, along with high quality softgoods and high quality skis we will further build the reputation for being a quality company as we establish the Liberty brand.

The way I see it, people (especially ski people) would rather pay 10% more money for a product when they know it will meet all of their expectations.

I played around with this logo in class today... this on the front... and Liberty on the back... or maybe the 3 stars... anyway

I don't think we should do any of the crazy flashyt designs like paisley or anything. They sorta take away from the logo, which is what we're tryin to show. I love the pinstripe, and checkerboard would be cool. I'm loving the productivity in this thread though. nice work people.
 
Yah Matt, Thats prety much what I was thinking. Mabey try it in some other font and see what they look like. I wish I had photoshop.
 
yeah...all those hats with any liberty sign or just the L would look sick.. i also like the LS one... i really think that if we ended up doing this new era hat tht we would get a really stronge response... another idea but probibly not realistic is make a team edition... just a thought..
