Andover, NH (Ski Press)-The Dalbello Ski Boot company has been hard at work over the past year refining and expanding their collection of high performance Krypton boots. A new Krypton model, the “RAMPAGE”, is being presented to U.S. retailers and skiers as a mid-season launch model.

Specifically developed as a specialty boot for aggressive freeride skiers who spend a fair amount of time in the park, the Rampage will complete Dalbello’s Krypton collection of high performance ski boots for men.

The Rampage features Krypton’s unique 3 piece “cabrio design” platform that boasts a smooth and progressive flexing tongue and almost unlimited performance and fitting personalization. Highlighting the Rampages list of features are its inverted lower shell buckle to accommodate smooth rail slide transitions, a shock absorbing, elastomeric footboard to cushion big air landings, and a substantially padded “plush liner” featuring a “shag” fur collar. Its rider designed beige/black color combination makes the Rampage stunningly unique.

Look for the Rampage this winter on the feet of world champion park skier Tanner Hall. The Rampage will have a suggested retail price of $550.00, and will be available for delivery in the late Fall. For more information, U.S. retailers may contact their sales representative, or Dalbello Sports Customer Service in Andover.

I knew it, someone made a post about Tanners boots being white, and some retard made a huge fuss over it just being snow. I looked at the picture and they looked white to me to.

I know, but there's only so much money I have. Yes, I could have stuck with my old skis and spent the $500 on some Kryptons, but I already bought some 1080 boots at a decent price last year. I don't know, maybe if they weren't so expensive I'd get them.

If they fit your foot it's worth it. I was in Kryptons most of last season and they are the best boot I've ever ridden.

But, it's all about fit.

yeah, there's no doubt in my mind they're the best boots on the market. My feet would surely love them, but I''ve already bought skis, a jacket, and a seasons pass and now I have no more $$. Maybe after they're released I'll have some more and then I can get the rampages

i work at a ski shop and tried the prototype Rampage on. these boots are the SHIT. i was gonna buy tecnica diablos but these are so fuckin nasty. Dago Pride bitch

it sucks that my foot doesn't come close to fitting right in kryptons. the flex feels so nice but damn they couldn't fit my foot worse.

if you liek the kryptons but dont wanna shell out 600 bucks for boots, you can pick up last years avanti's for pretty cheap, i got some at a local sale for 99 bucks (list is $800). they are a lil bit stiffer, but they are mad easy to get on and off and they are sooooo comfortable

it's reversed so it's on top of the foot, thereby decreasing the chance that t will slam on a rock and break. it was a request that plake made for the boot.

these are supposed to be out very soon. i thought they awere already out.

and these are super cheap. they retail for 399 us. they are a stripped down version of the krypton cross and krypton pro. the plastic used in the boot is also like 15 % softer than the plastic in the pro and cross.

They are supposed to be shipping in Dec and Jan to select retailers. They fit pretty narrow, but we have fit a lot of people on these boots, even with kind of medium wide feet, with a lot of work, just because they know how well they ski and really want them. I have been in them since last season and they are by far the best freeride boot out there. Don't buy the Avanti's thinking you are getting a Krypton for cheaper, not even close. You can get the Avanti's to work, but they are a normal 2-piece shell design and don't hold the heel like a three piece Krypton. Like nose- butter-grab-your-tip-without-your-heel-lifitng-at-all kind of heel hold. Tanner, McConkey, Kreitler, Plake, and Seth all know whats up with the 3-piece shell. Believe

My next pair of ski boots are going to be those for sure.

time to start saving my pennies

I spoke to a Dabello rep about them. They are pretty much identical to the Krypton Cross. The only differences are:

- Inverted lower buckle - I don't really see the point of this, a lot of touring boots have the same thing though

- Fur trim at the top of the liner

- Colour

Everything else is identical to the Comp - fit, flex, bootboard, tongue and liner (the new liner for all Kryptons is a hell of a lot more comfortable than the old one). The colour is nice, but I'd expect they'll be selling it for more than the Comp, possibly even more than the Pro. Save your money and buy the Comp, IT'S THE SAME BOOT.

you're wrong in a couple areas.

-the plastic in the shell is something like 15% softer plastic

-the inverted buckle is to prevent breakage from banging on rocks and to prevent unlatching when you are hiking

-it's a diff liner, not just the same liner with fur trim

-it has fewer flex adjustments than the cross or pro (sorta...the stuff is there, you just don't get the extra parts to make all the adjustments.)

-rampage retails for 399 usd

-cross retails for 499 usd

-pro retails for 599 usd

you said "I'd expect they'll be selling it for more than the Comp, possibly even more than the Pro." that won't happen. that would be like 1080 boots selling for more than the pro models.

then you say "save your money and buy the comp, it's the same boot"

once again, wrong. not the same boot. butying the comp definetely won't save you $.

just tryin to clear some stuff up.

peace

for the record i believe the specs are as follows

pro: thicker/stiffer shell, low volume liner NOT heat moldable

cross: thinner/softer shell, high volume liner heat moldable

rampage: thinner/softest shell, high volume heat moldable liner

anyway can someone tell me which one is the old liner; i have 2 and one has spandex over the top of the foot and the other has a rubber waterproof gator. i think the one with spandex is the newer one?

n33t. I just got new boots though. The buckle that locks down the heel seems like it'd be good for me though, since I have really narrow heels.

the pro and the cross have the same shell. there are just more flex adjustments you can make on the pro than the cross. you could do the adjustments on the cross i suppose, but the parts you need to do the adjustments arent included. the shells are the same thickness though

The liner with the spandex toe and stripes on the side is the new heat moldable one, it says CERAMIC on the tongue.

whats the difference between the rampage and just the krypton with the green buckles anyway? is the rampage more park specific or something?

i think it was tramdock.com that has them now for 300 with free shipping. any one know if the boot is narrow or wide? i really want to get these or the SPK depending on how they fit.

They're more narrow, I tried them on once and wasn't too sure, I'm thinking of trying them on again cause there is a shop near me with them on sale for $400 usd, is that a deal? Cause I'm in serious need of new boots and I'm thinking of trying to grab them for next season if the fit is right, or I'll wait to try on the spk.
