New contour cam

If I had an iPhone I wouldn't use it as a viewfinder for my contour in all truth, the phone is worth more then the camera.

But also at the price above the hero2 and with the popularity or gopro, not to mention the new sony on its ways its got me wondering about contour

The main thing it has going for it is the GPS function, which I guess is a plus to some people
 
I don't know. I had the older contour and I liked it without the GPS. I would never want to show a map as part of an POV edit I made. Usually you're in the resort anyway and each shot is no longer than 10 seconds.

I understand if you went on a cool trip somewhere and you wanted to make an edit with more detail and narration but that's not really what helmet cams are for. kinda like putting a telephoto lens on your camera phone. What's the point?
 
sony's action cam looks like it could be pretty dope too (coming out soon i think). pretty sure i heard it has a 720p at 120fps option too
 
Don't get me wrong. It's a great camera. It doesn't look nearly as dorky as a gopro when it's mounted on your helmet.
 
i can't wait til gopros are so small you can hardly see them on people. theyre so good for recording shit without all the fuss of a real camera, but theyre a magnet for shit talkers
 
I really like the idea of being able to use your iPhone as a viewfinder. Just to quickly check that you have the right angle before you drop. I also like the ability to change the contrast.
