my dad just got a new mac

dual 1.25ghz mac g4 processer

160gb harddrive

superdrive(cd-rw dvd-r)

os9 and 10 bootable so it can switch between operating systems on the same computer

and a new 19inch lecie moniter

i still use pc, but this is a damn cool computer im gonna use it alot not that anyone gives a turkish fuck but i thought i would share that

ya i know, its my dads not mine cause i dont have the money to buy that kind of computer, i just got a shitty hp but since my dad has it i can pretty much use it all the time :) hes had a g3 laptop for a long time and he uses photoshop all the time and that computer was on clearence sail cauze of the new g5's and theres no reason to upgrade to a g5 from a g3 running os9

PC's are stupid, 99% of the time people use PC's its because they're cheap (in quality and price) and people say Apple computer's are expensive and shit...well when your computer crashes all the time and you get multiple virus', have fun on your PC, the most generic form of computer ever. Apple's are computers that actually work.

Be Stoked. Macs rule. I'm running a G4 Dual 1 Ghz and I love it. Never a crash and certainly never any viruses. I like the way OS X has a built in server so you can send unlimited file sizes to people or have people send you mongo ass files. With applications like Itunes, Imovie, and Idvd preinstalled, it's just a matter of time before more and more people make the switch.

i like pc alot and i like mac alot there both great for different things, u cant compare them because they are entirely different machines, its like comparing a car to boat, though similar they are entirely different

i don't really get the ' macs never crash' phrash either.... we have macs at school and they're always tanking in PS...the freaking nikon scanning program only works OS9, but not X..

Macs are just nice and simple. They have everything you'll ever need in a computer and more. There just cool. I love everything about OSX. It has so many cool programs like, ichat, imovie, iphoto, and the new online server Safari which is so nice. If you have a mac download it.

 
I like pcs cause i build them and understand how they work pretty well(to a point). But i understand that some people whould like a mac because there not as hard to use, but a pc can also do more things. And the new ones like xp are becoming alot easier to use that that old windows 95. And if your computer is crashing alot try to get more up to date at windowsupdate.com

yup, the main reason i stick with PC's is cause i grew up building and fixing the SOB's...... I like macs, but now that they make Ipod for windows, i don't have any real reason to get a mac. all i need is the $$$$ to buy an ipod.

it came last night! its soo awesome, who needs to pay 1000 more for a g5? the double opperating system is so nice! u can switch from mac osx 10.2 to mac system 9.2 so if u have older programs that dont work with osx u can still use em all! plus it came wit a free epson printer and a floppydrive. we just put photoshop 7 in too

 
someone should tell this dude that if he needs to run os9 apps he can do it in os10.... it simply starts classic up in emulation mode.

you really shouldnt have to use 9 anymore, all the apps are for X now.

Price has little if anything to do with it. Consumers buy PC's because:

1. they are familiar

2. largely advertised

3. much more software is designed for pc, compatibility.

And that's just some of the reasons. I have been doing technical work with computers ever since I was 5 (dos was the OS of choice back then)

Sure, macs are decent when it comes to graphics/movie editing. But I would never buy one.

^^again i didnt buy this computer it is my dads he boutght it he owns it, and os9 is essential becuase he uses alot of older programs and stuff that he uses constantly and they dont run on osx, the clasic enviroment doesnt exactly run the programs normally and as for all the apps being for osx you are right but for upgrading the software u have to have the older stuff on your comp except for adobe stuff like photoshop pkus he has hardware like this big pentablet which wont be able to run in osx because there are no newer install software for it because it is a few years old. so having os9 and 10 is really awesome plus he got this computer for a thousand cheaper than normal

 
i like the apple monitors. we just got the 24 inch cinema display for our new computer...3 ghz processor, 200gb drive 1g ram, dvd burner...its nice.
