theres new companies coming out with hats, and reg clothes and skis...we need a new company making boots. no one makes boots for this type of skiing. we need ones with different designs like thicker padding. if they were like as padded as rollerblades it would be amazing. but yet it would still have support. super shock absorbers

freestyle only boots would be sick, but i don't know if it's feasible. the time and money it takes to design a boots, create a mold and reproduce the boot, could only be provided by a existing manufacturer, or by a company with a shitload of venture capital.

we should just have a team of clever people on this site create a design, and lobby for some capital to get moving. you could probably start making them at an existing factory.

it would be hard work to get it started and go through the process, but if a company really wanted to make a freeskiing specific boot it would definitely pay off because freeskiiers would definitely invest in them

haha or the 1080 boots, or the lange freeride boots,or the rossi XX's c'mon guys everyone makes a boot thats "FREERIDE" specific, they just suck. the dalbellos are siiiiiiick though

it would be nice to see a boot thats as versatile as the new twins that are coming out. like something that can be as soft as the rossis for park, but then as stiff as a race boot for big moutain, that i would definately buy, its hard to get a good all around boot.

Yeah, I brought this up a year ago or so, and everyone hated on the idea. I would like lots of padding, no shin bang, thermofoam liner, and a decent flex. So basicly, my Icon Alu comps with more padding

i have langes best boot..the comp 120 freeride and ill tell ;you it isnt nearly as good as a boot can be made.....they need super shin padding, super shock absorbers liek crazy ones. boots can go so much further

What about if you had inflatable sacs inside the boot to change how firmly the boot held your leg. i.e. low air pressure for jumping , high pressure for serious riding. you would have this seperate to the buckles aswell so that even at low psi the boot will still stay on your foot.

also they would work on a different mechanism to teh pumps cause instead of bracing your ankle they absorbe the impact from jumping.

Freestyle books suck. The Line boot, the old Rossi and Lange park boots...... they all sucked. Additional padding makes for a worse fit. And the soft boots are just weak.

but like, for jumps and shit, you don't want a super soft boot do you? I mean, maybe you do, but I've always thought a somewhat stiffer boot for jumping was preferible.

the best boot being made right now is the dabello kyrpton hands down. made from the rachile(sp?) boot mold you can change the tounge of the boot for more or less flex, AND change the actual footbed under your liner from firm to squishy. then theres always the liner/custom foodbed treatment.

DC making boots might be the coolest thing since the small pox vaccine. They would be sick in terms of function(of course), comfortable (of course), and oozing with much needed style. Ski boots right now are effing lame/ugly.

if you have a boot that is like a snowboard boot it would suck, no support or anything, and shock absorbers wouldn't do shit. and the reason you get shin bang is because you land in the back seet all the time and you are bending your shin bone.

 
I've always thought hacing a ski boot be more like a snowbaord boot would be interesting and might work quite well. I wonder how hard it would be to custom make a few to try...

how maybe a snowboard binding ON a ski? revolutionary if it fit eh?

why not just put your foot in a vice and have someone hit you in the knees with a car. that would be a lot cheaper. ;)

 
People are saying they want a softer boot with more padding but that’s what entry level boots are like the more padding you put in the less sensitive they become this would make the pipe extremely hard same with jumps and rails. You cant have both. Although I think it wood be cool for some new companies

The Line boots were re-skinned Raichle's. It's extremely hard to produce your own boot mold. Ski boots cost ALOT more to make than skis.
