New Colorado Ski Area?

well it looks like minturn will take awhile...but in the mean time squaw pass will possibally reopen next season...its located outside of ever green and the owner plans to make it into a almost all mtn. terrain park..

i live in evergreen, its so close to my house. i went up squaw pass looking for a place where hte ski resort was but i couldnt find it

It's on Chief Mountain, BELOW the road. You can also see it from Idaho Spings, its directly up the valley fron the hot spings.

ya i went up there today. its 11.5 miles from the stoplight where squaw pass road starts in evergreen. i couldnt wander around up there because there was knee deep snow but it was cool. i wish it was open now so i could ski that

just take some skis up there....they get most of there snow in march and april

i did have my skis, but it would be a long ass hike back up. i need a snowmobile

what is that old resort off of I-70 when you are coming into denver? there used to be a chair and everything at it, but now someone tore down the chair and built a huge ass house.

It was an area called Arapahoe East. The house that is there now is owned by the Medved family.

i used to live in evergreen for like 7 years and i always knew of that arapahoe east, but i have never even heard of squaw pass. where is chief mountain near? i think i am getting it confused with chief hosa kinda near walmart.

Chief Mountain is between Squaw Mountain and Mount Evans. It is directly south of Idaho Springs.

to get to squaw pass you go from the stoplight at the intersection or squaw pass road and bergen parkway and head up squaw pass for 11.5 miles

man u can ski it, u dont need a snowmobile, the parking is at the top of the area, and u can have somone load up at the bottom of the run smart one

but too bad the road and the parking lot has like 5 feet of snow on it so its impossible to drive it.

OK, so Idaho Springs is about half an hour of a longer drive from Boulder compared to Eldora (about.) hmmm, Eldora might still be able to hold on to the convienience factor but if the owners do this right, they're gonna be rolling in it with college kids and jib-hungry front range suburbanites.

yea, i know the guy that is backing the money for this mountain. it is true and its going to be amazing they are aiming for thanksgiving weekend to be open
