New cliffjump record

Nuit de la Glisse's "Never Ending Perfect Moment" I think, don't know of any trailer.

(Forget what I said further up about a Free Radicals film, looks like I misunderstood what Fred meant when he mentioned Free Radicals.)

looks like bs to me. i looked at all of the pics i think and i didnt see one of him actually in the air. and theres no video. sounds very easy to fake.

Are you stupid or just kidding? There is a photo of him in the air, immediately after leaving the edge. It's a little hard to see though, because of the low quality. And just because Thierry Donard hasn't published video yet, that doesn't mean there isn't any, although we don't know how the footage turned out. Wait until the full film comes out in the fall, then we'll see.

Except that if you read about what actually happened, you'd realize it WAS done unintentionally and how. Basically, sounds like the guy scoped a line, picked out a few little landmarks so he knew where he was on the way down, got the landmarks mixed up(obviously) and accidentally flew off a cliff hauling ass cuz he thought he knew where he was going but in reality, he didnt, and thats how he went off the cliff. Simple mix up, really.

The end?

OK so i've been proven wrong and I thank you for that. I think they should count it as a record intentional or not. There's clear evidence he did it and that the cliff was higher than Jamie Pierre's plus he survived and skied away. ++++++++++++++++++Karma to anyone that can translate or find me a video better picture english article anything.

man that drop looks fuckin huge in the pics.. its a wonder how he survived..

my only question is how do you do that accidentally...?

he went way off his line and landed on his back. If you do that it minimizes impact and you live but if you land of your feet you die from impact. Think Jamie Pierre, he didn't land on his feet but on his back

Jamie landed straight on his head, got so fucking lucky its ridiculous, anytime i see that and here him saying "i want all of you to think of jesus dying on the cross, this is my image to you" i just get fucking pissed

Theres enough info on it this is definitely true, i just reallly wanna see the video now that movies are coming out its gotta be kinda soon

quote: "The skier claims that the only thing that saved him was making a last-minute decision to go for it."

This should def count as a record now. He accidentally lost his line but purposfully hucked the cliff.

shitty translated version of the page but still

umm no. thats actually what ski jumps do, they just drop away. im not agreeing with him either, but to stand by a ski jump, shhyeahh they drop away

well holy shit i guess that proves it.

i could imagine someone making a stink about how the helicopter maneuvers so that we can't actually see the skier in the air for more than a split second but i'll let it go.

that should definately not count as a record. It takes no skill and no balls to fall off a cliff, just stupidity.

wow, i remember reading this thread when it was first created, and remembered seeing the pictures but never saw the video... amazing.

heres the story, translated to english.

It was during filming in the Alps with Thierry Donard and Nuit de la glisse that the Norwegian cross-country veteran Fred Roar Syversen (42) missed his scheduled run line. In a speed which is said to have been over 80 km / h, the Peace have driven right off a more than 100 meters high cliff. According to sources, did the other team to locate Syversen after a while, over 2.5 meters down in the snow, and apparently not too late, we believe the preliminary unconfirmed reports.

After that Fred missed so much on the line say, was not the camera men prepared for what was to happen. No one knows yet for certain whether the involuntary floated is attached to the film in its entirety, but the rumor that the end certainly is immortalized. The pilot of the helicopter to the page said to have measured the rock to around 320 feet.

After Syversen was dug out, he must have stood on skis, even down to the helicopter, and then was flown to hospital. In the time of writing Fred in the hospital for observation, but so far doctors have not found any errors on hardhausen. A good portion englevakt can NOK forever young Syversen claimed to have had in these times of Easter, and at the same time he can possibly claim to be the holder of the world's highest cliff jump on skis - without a parachute or other permanent damage.
