NEW Chronics...

This is what I don't get...I've been trying to narrow down skis for this year and I'm considering these Chronics and the Scratch FS WRS or maybe the Ghettos (from what I understand they are the same ski)

Anyway, the edges on the fs wrs are thinner to reduce weight, but the chronics edges are described as twice the thickness...but I haven't heard many - if any at all - complaints about the durability of the scratches...making me think that the edge thickness isn't that crucial.

Are there more downsides to thick edge size than there are benefits? Is there a reason the Chronics would be a better choice than the FS WRS?

Not sure about slanted sidewalls, I've ALWAYS hated that design, great way to ensure your skis get chopped to shit by crossing 'em up. I don't know anybody with a ski designed like that who isn't missing multiple quarter-sized or large chunks out of their topsheets. I love Line skis, only skis I've owned for over 5 years, but I'm not so sold on these new Chrons. I'll stick to my old pair with the white topsheet from two seasons ago, still absolutely bomber skis.

i have blends, best all around ski ive ever clicked into.

i really want the new chronics, but i have too many skis already

so you would rather the entire topsheet come delamed then having a couple of chips on the sidewall? doesnt really make sense.

thicker edges= negligable weight difference.

and it does make a huge difference in durability, if youre hitting rails as part of your daily diet. If you do urban, forget about it, youre edges are going to be street litter.

Im not a big rossi fan anymore, or a huge line fan for that matter... but you take the old chron and put a sidewall construction on it. good ski I would say.

do you mean graphically, because they look plain and ugly. if you mean how they ski, i have no idea how they ski.

I got mine, ordered them from getboards. I agree that line has the best edges, I also have a pair of the original chronics and after two seasons of hitting rails there are still no edge cracks or even any major dents. The new chronics seem nice so far from what I can tell without skiing them. They have a good bit more flex than previous seasons, and they are fairly symmetrical.
