Ya'llllll I don't know what to do, I cannot be in medicine anymore, it's killing me. But I don't know what else to do.... I have to have a high paying job because #family but I don't know what to do that won't make me super depressed... Anyone have any career suggestions that won't be soul sucking?

Bro being in medicine is the largest flex ever. I have friends who are in med school now and while they’re all super humble about it I still feel like an idiot every time I hang out with them. I have heard though that it is insanely exhausting so don’t blame you at all for wanting out

1. Research recruiting companies

2. Go onto LinkedIn and get in touch with recruiters

3. Lie to recruiter about current salary (add at least $13,000 to current salary)

4. Kick your feet up while they cherry pick jobs that match or compete with your "salary"

5. Make more money at new job

In mortgage recruiting, they will ask for pay stubs to verify income

I know others who have pulled this off, pretty crazy. Their old company was taking advantage of them and the new companies would low ball. It's a shame but gotta do what you gotta do.

I totally agree with maximizing potential income. Just knew it because my good buddy recruits in mortgage and it’s super cutthroat

This is no longer legal in CO. An employer can’t ask your previous wage and leverage an offer based off of that as it could be seen as discriminatory. Therefore, they now must post the offered wage in the job posting. I fuckin love it lol.

I think that is great. I’ve still seen some companies trying to skirt the CO rules though. Remember when Evo posted a CO job on here and got flamed for not posting salary and saying “we’re from Seattle”?

Oh i dont doubt it. Tons of small businesses like local shops in breck were absolutely oblivious to the new rule when it was first introduced. It’s also great awareness as an employer because you can see exactly what everyone else is paying for similar roles and use that knowledge to retain or attract talent. I get heated when i see an interesting job in Utah and i have no idea if it’s gonna be 30% less than my current role or 30% more so I don’t even waste my time applying.
