so i already put a sub in my civic 09 model (alpne 10in S series) and lookin around for a deck i already gotta buy a $80 plastic piece to be able to install a deck. Any help on a good not so expensive ($350 max) deck?

What $80 plastic piece? The plastic piece that goes where the hole was that you are replacing? Those are like $20, if you are paying $80 you are getting ripped off.

Pioneer and Alpine are my favorite. Stay away from Sony. For 350 you can get a top of the line one pretty much.

on the civics there is no main square part it is spread out over the dash... looks like this

thanks i actually put in the sub and still have the stock radio just had to put in a raa adapter or something like that but im thinkin about putting an aftermarket deck in hopefully adding some watts... just lookin for some good ideas on what deck

You wont add some watts with an aftermarket deck, they get like 15-18w RMS which is shit. You need a 4-channel amp to add wattage to your speakers and a mono block amp to power your sub.

How will the aux help him with this sub? Unless you can set it to be an Aux Out, which then you probably can get it setup, however with a lot of cars Aux ports are only Aux In

I would recommend doing two amps if you want to amp the speakers and the sub...amping all of your speakers and your sub on 1 amp isn't a good idea, you lose quality and you lose the ability for stereo sound.

I've got an Alpine head unit thats a few years old with an ipod hookup through the glove compartment which is awesome. I got it for like $200-250 not sure but it works great, I have two relatively cheap 10" kenwood subs with a 500 watt amp that sound pretty good. Since my subs arent very loud, my Alpine has BBE which I assume is Bass Boost Enhancer/Engine that depending on the settings can double or triple my bass. What i used to hear from the subs at volume 20 i can now get at volume 8 or so which is great. I have good infinity speakers but no amp for those and dont plan on hooking them up to one because they sound so great. My friends have kenwood head units which i personally dont like as much but are still good.

Definitely don't go with a brand like JVC or anything like that, they are just cheap quality and not as many features

That the one? Same one I have! haha it is the shit. I have my ipod hooked up and also have a special cable to hook my satellite radio to the back. The BBE is like a bass emulator that changes what position the bass is at, floor, mid, high location around you and also enhances it. Overall an amazing headunit, if they have a new model I want to get it in the future.

I keep mine at 0 cause I don't like how it sounds, but it is basically used to emulate the bass to feel at different levels and frequencies I am pretty sure.

Alright thanks, and I looked online but didn't find much about it. Does it change the sound from the speakers at all? I didn't think so when I put it at 1. It seemed like it just changed the bass on the subs, a little bit louder/deeper

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but my deck puts out 50w x 4 Channels (to each), so yeah an aftermarket deck can definitely add some wattage to your speakers.

Haha look it up again man, this is the BIGGEST example of false advertising. 50W PEAK not RMS. Look it up again, 50W Peak is way different than RMS. Peak means pretty much nothing, it is all about the RMS.
