Just got my nikon D60 today, would appreciate any tips and/or tricks from current or past users. thanks

read the manual to figure out how to use its controls and then just go out and shoot as muuuch as you can. when i got my d50 it was pretty intimidating at first but give it a little and youll learn how to use it. basically just walk around and take pictures--youll learn how to make good pictures and learn how to use your camera enjoy

this may sound like its not helping you so if you really want some indepth info search around on google and youll find some good stuff to help you out but finding it out yourself is really a good way to get a feel for your camera

alright thank you. i usually stray away from user manuals because of how wordy they can be and confusing to say the least. I am exploring around my city tomorrow though shooting and i cant wait to find out more about the features, it seems like a really great camera so far

put into manule exposure/focus, if you learn how to do both then down the line you well be a better photog

yes, but you convert them to jpeg once there on your computer, but before you do you can change things such as: white balance, exposure, and you can more finely adjust the saturation and sharpness. what editing program do you use?

Get a basic DSLR handbook and read it cover to cover. That way, you will know what all those little buttons do, and you can make use of them.

i agree with all the guys who say read the manuals, i was shooting some mountain bike and just regular photos like lifestyle all summer with a D100 with no manual and it was kinda hard to figure the damn thing out.
