New Boreal park website

I know this isn't the most exciting news in the world but at this time in the summer its all I have. The new site is up. But there is one really cool thing about it. You can sign up for txt message alerts. So if something like a park is closed unexpectedly or the pipe will re-open at night, the kind of things you might want to know before you hop in the car and drive up here, then at least you might get the txt in time if it makes a difference. Also, made it easy to sign and be able to leave comments on the posts. Once you start leavng comments, you never know but you could be elevated to an author and be able to create posts of your one. Cant get any better than hearing it straight up from the people riding the parks.

In the next couple weeks I promise to have more exciting info about whats changing, staying the same and going to all outright new for this winter.

Ncurry, to answer your question..kinda..yes. There are a bunch of peeps on here that I would make mods right from the start if they want to use their NS name for their name on our site. That would grant you the permission to create posts, upload pictures and video. For new people that are not from NS it will be a little different. You can still sign up for an account and be able to post comments but not create content right from the start. After awhile you could then be promoted to author status.

If anyone wants to be an author just pm me after you sign up on our site and I'll make the change.
 
sweet deal eric. that will definitely be helpful, especially as the season gets into full swing and more and more resorts are open it will most definitely give boreal a better shot at getting ridden more for those who have more than one pass.
it would be real sick to if those who were mods or what not could post up other details, like whats good, whats not, what needs work, length of lines, etc... kinda like a twitter thing that could be done from the lifts as the day goes on
 
I'm definitely trying to figure that one out. Its super easy to integrate twitter into the site but I dont know enough about to filter out everyones junk and keep it specific to shredding at Boreal. I agree it would be sick if everyone could txt in while riding with their experience but the last thing we need to be hearing is junk like in that new cell phone commerical where the Dad is on the porch tweeting about being on the porch tweeting.

 
if you could figure out how to let only like employees, park crew, or a selected group of riders post that you trust and ride there everyday, that would take care of those issues
 
Thats actually not too hard but in the spirit of letting everyone have their voice the ultimate would be so that anyone with a twitter or Boreal account could do the mobile posts.

I'll work on the easy way first and let everyone know the progress as it comes along.
