New binding thoughts...

If any of you are fimiliar with the new volkls, and specifically the AX models... it raises and interesting point....

Why not use that system on all skis? The rails on there let the ski flex normally, and the bindings can slide on and off with more easy than screwing in 4 screws. I dont get it, why not use this? It works, and you can use regular bindings, youre not 10 feet off the ski, and it weighs nearly the same...

BEcause:

-its not nearly as strong

-its higher off the ski, less stability

-it limits the riders choice of bindings

-its heavier

i asume you are talking about the marker system right? they use that in many of the elan skis as well. and head has a binding that uses that same principle. they dont aplly very well to twins. great for recreational and advanced carving skis, because it helps the ski turn easier, but not a good idea for us.

in science class i sat down to fast and you know how you can sit on your balls. well i did and i sat down really fast and crushed them and right when i sat down i started puking and fell out of my chair. they teacher laughed. i felt like i could pass out i wanted to die.-*NWFT*nUkkA

I still just have no idea how you can mistake your dick and a chicken neck, let alone not realize what you are doing. -manus

East Coast nailed the issue.

And marker bindings suck.

The idea of the rail system is a good one that other companies are implimenting but it will only mean more proprietary systems in skiing.
