Today, the beastie boys released a song for download from their new album. Check out beastieboys.com to download it. I haven't gotten a chance to listen yet as I am still downloading it but it deals with unjustified war. Typically, the beasties have valid points towards political issues, check it out if not for the beastie's amazing talent but for the message behind the song.

for some reason it would only download about 30 sec of it for me. I don;t know but it seems like they lost their talent. maby the song progresses more after 30 secs or something... the words are cool for the most part though

To be completely honnest, the only song I know by the Beastie Boys is 'Fight for your right'. And for me, that is just as powerful as the song that you just posted. Both are about truth. Yes, fight for your right is about fighting to be alowed to have your own fun, but the thing is, they talk about their teachers and parents being hypocrits. In their more recent song, they talk about politians being hypocrits.

beastie boys rock! they did in the 80's 90's and still do. anyone who says anything else is trippin. anyone know anything about them doing a new cd ? i heard a rumor awhile back

Yeah, they are doing a new CD, it has been officially announced. I was really surprised they released one of the songs, I really really like it, their stuff isn't for anyone. Also, of course they have changed since their early days, they used to be a hardcore punk band when they were in their late teens. Now being in their 40's, of course their music will change a bit as they mature, not that its a bad thing at all. I prefer 'Hello Nasty' to 'Ill communication'.
