“It was especially encouraging to work closely with our Canadian colleagues to come up with a unified scale. This will only help in our efforts to promote avalanche forecasting consistency and to improve safety for the many people who recreate in the backcountry in both countries” according to Karl Birkeland, the U.S. lead on the project and an Avalanche Scientist with the USDA Forest Service National Avalanche Center.

They even added colorful logos, solid!

Nice, a unified system would be a great thing for them to make. Too bad this doesn't effect me much on the EC* :(

*Although I have created a couple of slides, but nothing major
 
Looks like the only thing they changed is that now extreme danger is black instead of black border.
 
Too bad? seriously? Consider yourself a fortunate skier if you haven't seen or been in a slide.
 
Yea, but if your below one watching it come down at you im pretty sure you wont think their so rad afterwards, not a fun experience
