NEW ARMADA SKI!!!

omg no wAY!!!!holy shit! whered u get this info?? are u SPONssed??????fuuuuuuuuuccKKKKK!!

I heard Armada is releasing them in november and only making 50 pairs of them. I saw them when I went into jibij, they are pretty sick.

its just the same ski as the K2 pontoon pretty much.....aka tampooon.  cept the tail isn't as small.

Same concept as the Pontoon, which was the same concept as the Spatula. They each have their differences, but either way, it's a reverse sidecut, reverse camber ski, so i'm sure it'll be sick in pow.

pontoon isnt reverse sidecut, just tapered tail. tips 160... 160-130-120.

theyre all revisions of the same idea but... not really the same at all... except in being pow skis.

and theyre all fucking nightmares for binding buying.

a ski that can't make up it's fucking mind.

And they aren't all that light, about as light as you would expect from a ski that size.

from the website:

"With that said, the entire Armada Team thanks visionary Shane McConkey for thinking outside the box and waking up an entire sport and industry."

they give respect where it is deserved. good job guys

it seems like its the same taper in the tip and tails like the pontoon but it has sidecut underfoot like a normal ski under foot so it wont just slide out trying to make it back to a lift

its good they had a shout out to Shane in there. i remember when he did it in Focused. i just think that those skis won;t do very well because they're just such a radical change from normal skis

Pontoon - Best powder/big line ski ever made! The tips clap a bit if you ski a tight stance, but the ski itself is insane. I have a pairs of spats and got my hands on a early run of toons last year.

They live up to all the hype and then some...

I am sure the ARG's will open some eyes as well.

In fact I know several small garage skis with similar shapes that just plain kill it!

ARG really isn't like the Pontoon in several aspects. The tips are a great deal smaller, there is a sidecut under foot, it is exceptionally stiffer and uses a rocker, rather than a reverse camber. Rocker is adapted from surfboard shaping and is flat under foot and the tip and tail point up.

actually, the pontoon does not have reverse camber, it has rocker. That was the point of the ski, and the pontoon is flat under foot. Armada knocked off Shane/K2 on this one.

The only downside to these types of skis is putting them on your shoulder to hike and side stepping/skating
