179 canadian for the 1 gig, mine is ordered and coming to me in less than 2 weeks.
It's not a bad idea. Think about it for a second. All those other piece of shit flash players cost 2-3 times as much per meg of storage, and the screens are so tiny that they're essentially useless, other than draining the battery. The iPod Shuffle is simple, and can hold way more songs than anything comparable price wise. Plus, it'll work better in sporting environments than a regular hard drive iPod, and if you do break it and it can't be warrantied, it's less of a financial hit than either a mini or regular.
The idea behind the iPod Shuffle isn't to drop a bomb on the part of the market Apple already owns with the iPod harddrive models, but rather to gain a strong share of the significant other part of the MP3 player market, that being the flash-based players. By the looks of it, they're going to succeed.
Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.
