New 1080 Boot?

Has anyone seen the Salomon 1080 boot in a darker green finish than the one shown on the Salomon website? (which are the ones in 'green foil' which is more yellow to my eyes)

I had these darker grass-green 1080's in my hands today... I was wondering if it was the 2004 model or some budget-model cause they were only 220$

Damn, thanks tho. I need a new boot and had my mind set on some 1080's since last year. This new color is just butt-ugly and doesn't match any of my gear, and chances are im not going to find last years model easily either.

I was looking in to the Salomon Course XT model on the Salomon site today and it seems to have almost the same specs as the 1080 does, anyone that knows if these really are as good as the 1080's when it comes to shock absorbing etc.?

I think the main thing that matters in a boot is how it fits YOUR foot, so you really have to just go to a shop and see how they fit.

well ive been skiing for 20 years now, and i never had a boot that didn't hurt so that's kind of a problem. I think i had all regular brands, including a couple of salomons, raichle, loads of tecnica's, nordica, etc.

Problem is i've got a race-background and im used to skiing with a tight boot, i can not ski with boots that are too loose.

Maybe i should get me one of those custom foam boots, i dunno.

yea, the new boot is awesome, i really don't give a fuck if it matches, but the comfort fit is sooo nice, and the shock absorber helps some too.

Yup, wtf was Salomon thinking... Im gonna look into the Salomon Course XT somewhere, they look dope and seem to have almost the same specs, absorbing heel, autofit mould etc. Can't find a price online tho, im afraid they'll turn out a lot more expensive than the 1080's since the other course are around 600-700

what make the 1080's better are theyt worth it

I have Armada AR5's and they are glorious

i still think the best color was the dark grey ones they had a few years ago.

i went to the 1080's this year the dark green ones, they have a bigger toe box than most boots, a nice coushoning system for your heal and are so soft and flexable, so nice
