never use good skis on dryslope cos yesterday i took my brand new salomon pro pipes up my local dryslope and ater and hour i take of my ski to check the base and theres a bloody massive gash on them and theire completly wrecked so thats 600 down the toilet!

That happens regularly on real snow too. Core shots are inevitable if you ski early or late in the year, in trees, on ungroomed snow or in the park. It sucks that it happened to your brand new skis, but it's not that serious. Like everyone in the thread says, have a shop p-tex them or look up on the internet how to do it. You need a stick of p-tex, which you can get at any ski shop, a lighter and maybe a utility knife.

just go with it. we arent racers so our bases dont matter too much. I go just as hard early season as midseason to get the fresh, and i suffered a few scratches but nothin major. Just gotta charge it.

Snow flex should be fine for any skis, however damaged dendix wire may core your skis if you hit it at speed.

At hillend in Edinburgh I had the bases of my skis start to smoke due to the shear frictional heat. Dryslope may shorten the life of your skis, but rocks and rails do more damage imo.

Go to your local shop and get a base grind + master tune. Should be around $30 and your skis will be just like new. But if you only have one gash, just p-Tex it and you will be good to go.

yep it actually happend at hillend and its like 2or 3 inches wide and about 120 centemetres long so i cant even fix em cos iits down to the base .gutted

Shit sucks, but p-tex candle should do the job...or you're friendly neighbourhood Freeze Pro Shop...
You can also get Dry Slope specific wax, it's got an ultra high melting point and is designed to protect the bases from burning up whilst making you go a little faster too. It can be found in the ebay link in my sig if your interested.

I use Swix CH6 (The blue one) on my Blends for my local dryslope (Permasnow) and by the time I finish after about 3 hours all the wax apart from the tips and tails is completely gone. It has however prevented any further damage to my bases, but I haven't noticed any difference in speed. Dendex is a killer for any base of any kind, but I believe Permasnow is even worse.
