Never thought I would do this.

Holy fuck... the past two days (Wednesday morning through Thursday morning) I put in a 20 hour work day from 8 AM to 4AM Thursday fencing on a ranch. I had two red bulls, two 5 hour energies, 5 granola bars, and some frosted shredded wheaties. I was a shaking mess at the end of the day but now I get a 4 day weekend.

i work twice a week for like 8 hours a day hehe so i can't relate to you at all. and it's just an internship so all i do is code photos for a server and scan photos. idk why i'm even posting if this is so irrelevant. probably because my boss forgot i existed today so all i've been doing is going on ns, playing ski runner, and watching 30 rock at work because i have jack shit to do

my mom told me not to work this summer. she said that working as a teen sucked the life out of her summer, and that she would give me an allowance and let me have fun.

so i pretty much chilled this summer, and got ten dollars a week.

hahaha i mean that is pretty awesome, i was just suprised when i saw 10 dollars a week. haha my friend makes 10 an hour at mcdonalds

no, my bad he makes like 9 25. in MA 8 is min wage, and he worked this special week or something, that was really important and if you do well you get a big raise an dhe did

my mom said the same thing, but i do alot of work for her so i make 20 a week, and i help my dad out every now and then so he'll give $5 an hour, usually 7-8 hour day depending on when cross country practice gets over

Damn I thought I had it rough last summer. Wake up at 3:30, leave town at 4, Get in the work truck at 430, get to the job at 6, quit at 430, be home any time between 7 and 830.

I do work construction. We've just been fencing for this guy up north and we had to finish up so we could get our gear back to town and start another job. Honestly any construction company could do fencing, the only expensive piece of equipment you need is a skidsteer, an auger and possibly a postpounder. What construction company doesnt have at least a skidsteer?

whats worse is working like 60+ hours straight, getting ridiculed the next day, and you're not getting paid, you're paying for it!

wow you could have worked one day and made as much as your getting in allowance for the whole summer i'm 16 i've already made $2120 since the beggingin of july think of the shit im gona be able to do with that money and summers not even half over. I go work and and have something to do well you sit around "chillin" board as hell wishing you had something to do.

basicaly not haveing a summer job either meens you are A)rich and spoiled B)retarded C) lazy as fuck D) all of the above..../rant

I once worked a 16 hour day at Mcdonalds. thats the worst I got. besides 12 hour days all day for 3 months.

that must have been soooooo bad. haha

my best is 17 or 18 hours of snow shoveling. (i dont remember) but its something like start work at 12am, work until 10am. go home sleep, get back around 4 and go again for another 8 hours.... its weird after X number of hours you just go, you dont feel anything, you just work...

Damn snow shoveling is alot of work. And ya I know what you mean, you get to the point where your body just seems numb and you just push forward with what your doing.

its not as bad as you might be picturing it. gotta remember in MN 3in of snow is a hell freezing, gridlock inducing, nightmare...

plus you shovel off a sidewalk pushing it into a parking lot and letting the plows take it from there..

props though, i cant imagine working 20 straight...

I spent a lot of time in a truck going from point a to b to c to d to e etc... plus some time in a skidsteer.. It really wasnt that bad. I dont want to do it again though.

i hope you had someone with you. i would have gone bonkers by myself... haha (seriously)

skidsteers are BADASS. (such an amazing piece of equipment)

best present EVER!

IMO a skidsteer is like stepping back in time and playing with an RC car or something.. last week i was flipping round bales, picking up, loading onto wagons. and then back at the barn stacking them 3 high... just like playing a big real life video game, something. its just enjoyable.

i work weekdays at a radio station and it is boring as fuck.

Every radio station needs to keep a printed proof of every commercial that playes in a day (for insurance reasons) and each commercial takes up about 1/5 of the page (its written in code shit) so that comes to a huge fucking stack of paper for each day. now, what i have to do is re arrange about 2 and 1/2 years of these "logs" as there called. theres definitly worse jobs though.

i dont do shit for a while then ill find an odd job somewhere. the downfall is that i only have 3 dollars and 73 cents in my bank account right now...

I work 12-14 hour days on a regular basis during the year and make negative money. Awesome. 1 more year.

haha im rockin minimum wage teaching toddlers and level 4 swimming lessons. I have 2 14 year old kids under me doing it for community service and I just tell them what to do. I technically should be getting more than minimum wage for teaching two levels but not for the work I do.

there is much more to life than money.

i payed for all my ski stuff with reffing soccer, plus a few hundred left over. i worked off my pass for next year over the past school year. i'm just living life. tramping a ton, running, chilling with my dog.

last week i had an impromptu camping trip to the beach. we just up and left. didn't have to worry about anything, just went. sure i am kind of bored, but it feels good. i don't have money going down the drain through a girl(expensive little hoes, i'm 16, that relationship is going nowhere, fast.) i don't have to pay any bills, cause i'm a junior in highschool, why should i work?

my bro once did stocking for 37 hours straight, the longest ive done is 27 though doing construction cuz we had to get a floor finished for a showing.

Word. I love running the steer. I spent Memorial Day weekend grading and landscaping a friends place, it was so fun!

At work, we run ours real hard. Doing stuff that would require a dozer if it was done 20 years ago or would require a day with a chain saw or hours digging holes.
