I was looking around for resort opening dates and came across this lovely review of Brighton by a very disgruntled dad named John Stone

Sounds like my kinda place!

I get half price lift tickets there and my girlfriends family lives in PC. might just have to take the short flight out a few times this year haha.

I realized the other day that ive never been in the lodge at the place ive had my pass at the last 2 seasons haha. Im a big fan of a libertarian mountain with a dirtbag vibe :)

But seriously tho, why the fuck is he still skiing there if he thinks its unsafe for his kids lol. Theres other options in utah

I mean, I have had some friends get swiped by jerries, but they were clearly jerries. Not homies taking some fast laps.

Saw some hilarious conflict between an old dude and the ticket scanner the other day about some guy going fast, the liftie was just kinda indifferent while this guy railed him about people going fast down the one run open in CO.
 
There's nothing that makes me love freeskiing quite like pissed of entitled rich weekend warriors. This sport rules.
 
I mean, that is what Brighton is. It is not fancy, not the nicest, and not the place I would ever come on a vacation if I had kids or family.

...also why they are still "under the radar" a bit and not exactly bringing in the skier visits and $ as all their neighbors.
 
I feel safer around good skiers drinking/smoking and totally sketched out by people like the guy that wrote the review.
 
Sounds pretty tame. I think he would have a better experience if he were there during the Alta employee night ski. Then he could really see some shit hahaha.

one of my best skiing mates worked the line in the kitchen @ Alfs, it sounded like a fucking madhouse on some of those nights. FRANKs fucking wild, too. he told me about dudes with bags of doobs and shrooms handing shit out like candy lol.

Skiing through the dark with a headlamp and full hockey gear while tripping balls is a pretty typical brighton night ski.
 
Its a good hill. Utah mountains really do compliment each other well. North if you want no crowds. PC if you want the Summitt Co rich people experience and some fancy shit. Altabird if you want better terrain and to be on a tram with hardos tracking their daily vert. And one more canyon close to the city that is laid back yet has sick terrain.
