Never been so down from a day of skiing

Well today was my first day of skiing this season, and first day of riding twins. Naturally they were brand new (THall's for those who care). Anyways, the first few runs were good, I got to practice riding switch while my friend got used to riding her snowboard again. By the time this was over, the hill had started to get busy, and on the next ride up, we got some fucking tourist snowboarder with us, and when we got to the top of the chair, she just wiped out and managed to get her edge all the way across both of my skis, leaving a nice gash across them. A couple hours later, after I felt enough confidence to try and hit the park, I got to it, looked in, and saw a bunch of boarders, no skiers, and about 10 snowbladers. I nearly threw up out of rage that snowbladers outnumbered skiers. I then decided that I would just ski runs and find a less homosexual park. Later, while waiting in the line at a lift, I felt something whack the back of my skis. I kinda turned around to see what it was, and it was some little shit, who, once I turned back around, decided to kick my ski about 3 times before I turned around, about ready to kill the little bastard, only to see his parents right beside him. I sorta muttered something along the lines of "Fuck'er again and I'll kill you." When I got to my car to head home, I noticed that a little bit on my tail looked gouged like on my tip, but when I looked at it closer, I noticed that the stupid fucking joey had completely chipped part of my topsheet off. About the only good thing about today was knowing that tomorrow I'm driving up to the mountains to ski some real hills.

Why the fuck did you buy tanners for your first twin ???? Get some gay ass 1260's or something to learn on then once you have confidence to throw down infront of the snowlerbladerzz then buy tanners.... Fucking kids these days.

^eh don't mind him. he has a history of anger problems. but realy tho u shouldn't be show down about it

your an idiot, im glad he got the skis he wanted

but do stop whinning, you don't ski on the tops of your skis

wow you stayed out of the park because of the scary snowboarders? they didnt even call you a loser and you managed to make yourself one. just go in there and giv'er. there isnt one good skier who didnt start off bad so suck it up and get learning. I hate how everyone seems to care so much what others think, just fuckin ski!

yeah people (especially snowboarders) always seem to run into the back of my twins in lift lines, so just keep one pole dragging behind ur skis, solves the problem.

give the kid a break and stop giving the degrading newschoolers.com attitude that turning this site to shit. Shit happens man, just look ahead those people are everywhere. Think of it this way your bound for a sick skiing day the next time you go out.

bring some orange slices with you next time so when you are bored you can eat them and they are tasty and also if someone makes you mad you can offer them some orange slices but tell them in order to see well they should take their goggles off and then squeeze some of the orange in their eyes and the citric acid will burn burn burn. then pretend to give them a high five but do a fakeout and dont actually give it to them

Just have fun and get progressing. We all have to start somewhere. Chances are you'll be better than most of the boarders in a day or two. Ignore what people think.

yea, i really hate that, like, i wanna keep my skis kinda nice, you know, but when there are all of these stupid youngins on their little rental skis on the lift line and they hit me, i get pissed. the way i keep them from hitting me is to practice nose pressing and tail pressing in the lift line, they usually don't want to get hit if i eject so they back away.

stop being a little bitch...you skis are gonna get scratched up eventually, if your worried about a little gash on the top of your skis you shouldnt be riding twins

yeh man i used to be like that last year too...its all cosmetic so dont worry about it...i know it hurts your heart every time u feel a fuckign gay ass snowboarder launch into the tail of your ski in the line...there are ways to get back at t hem and i have found them out efficiently...

1. if a boarder hits your tips in line, you can either A, wait 1 second until he is about to go up the chair lift, and ram your pole into his board (my personal fav)...or in line, you can just "accidentally" put your pole on his board and put pressure on it so that it slides out..and scratches his board in return for the nise gouge he has just left on your brand new sticks...

2. for on your tails, it is as simple as just flexing forward (like a nose press)and then let him slide his board underneath your skis becasue he is comming so close to you tyhat he will do it without noticing...let stand normal being on his nose... when u go forward it is going to so "twing" on his board and their will most likley be a scratch or it will at least notify him to fuck off...

i know these things are not the nicest thing in the world to do to someone but where my hill is, it is every man for them self and kids are VISHUS.

being protective of new skis is udnerstandable, but that stuff is gonna happen. skiers with rentals are going to step on ur skis in lift lines, boarders are gonna fall and slid right into you... you just have to get past it. that's what your skis are meant for, getting beat up. the more you worry about it, the more disappointed you'll be.

you just have to except that eventually, your skis will be falling apart, and ugly. it happens to all of us, but i can see why your frustrated

The orange slices sounds like a nice idea. Also just have a good attitude, and just hang with the snowboarders. Take the advice in harold and kumar about how the universe will unfold as it should.

Well skis tend to delam and chip. It's a fact of life all of us skiers have learned. And oh yeah, you do have quite the shitty attitude towards snowboarders.

advice to you... don't ever instruct, god forbid somebody you are teaching might run over your skis.

other than that, don't be afraid of the park, most ppl are chill and if they aren't .... screw em, in lift lines stetch your legs by sliding one leg back so you actually ram into the person behind you who is on your shit, I do that to let ppl know or I just pick up the back of my ski and then step down on their shit

and don't worry about scratches, just like scars, they build character!

when dealing with snowboarders, remember you have heavy hard boots on that are easily released from the ski, poles, and skis with sharp edges to fight with. You are also probobly faster than snowboarders. If you still get your ass kicked, maybe theres a reason for it.

stop whining, never ever should bladers out number skiers in the park! you shouldve taken them out!

Oh.

I'd say I'm sorry to hear that...except, you're the epitome of what I don't want to happen to our sport so... No dice.

You choose the way you react to situations. It's your own fault you had a shitty day.

ohhh fuck, thats nothing, i teach and i get my skis run over like 10 times a lessons, my sidewalls and full of gouges

haha wow first day out on my new scratch BCs they got gouges all over the basses of each ski from rocks. pretty much everything that I thought looked good was a couple feet of pow with rocks underneath. oh well at least I was having fun on them not stnading in the lift line

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, tanners would be a better first ski than a 1260 any day, or you could get a good twin that holds an edge

yeah top sheet scratches suck on your first day with new skis but it is inevitable ... at least you didnt just discover a 2 inch gouge out of your base and loss your seasons pass, but hey i can just spend whats left over of my chirstmas money after paying to reprint my pass to pick up some petex... i dont know how your top sheet will ever recover.

dont get mad you just gotta be on top of it and not let these things happen... but your skis are going to get wrecked no matter what now yours are just a few days sooner

Last year I got fujatives, and on the first day out I decided I'd just take it easy, air some rollers, not do any rails or anything on them for the first month or two, save it for my old skis. 3rd or 4th run in, I go to air this roller I just hit a couple times, end up landing directly on a huuuuuge rock patch, leaving me with these:

Couldn't even believe it. I didn't even care that I almost hit my face on a pile of rocks, I was too mad that my brand new skis were massacared. But some Ptex fixed them. It's all good.

It actually is annoying when skiers or snowboarders alike run into your tips and shit in line. Just turn around and give them a bad look. Cosmetics man, who cares.

what?! thats nuts. i got bowled over this year by some fucktard when he double ejected nosepressing in the lift line. i was pissed.
