For any of you idiots saying that swerve skiers can’t ski (not naming names but I’ve seen a few threads about this), Magnus just won the Nendaz invitational. Man is a complete savage. Unreal skier and 100% deserves to win

His run was crazy good. Can't wait to see the whole contest. Anyone know when they're gonna post it up?

I don't think we get one :(

Just a highlight reel. Markus Eder was one of the first to post the whole run.

Magnus is a great skier, if you see some of his older parts you will be suprised. his old street parts are quite impressive and is just as good as some of the more famous parts from the time

I mean he still looked like a complete goon between jumps. hands way high up and riding his tails to make the turn and shut down speed after landings. Compared to a guy like Markus who has the same if not bigger bag of tricks but stands on his edge and just fucking rails. Magnus is a great skier and fun to watch him do his thing but compared to someone who really has top level edge control and traditional skiing skills its not really comparable.

Actual good swerve is harder than big mountain backcountry and I will not back up this claim or support it with evidence

Hard to argue with that, Magnus is great but it’s not the same kind of great

Holy shit my comment earlier was a lighthearted joke but you really just said he doesn’t have traditional skills. Are you fucking for real bro? He didn’t get famous for swerving, he was already established as an incredible skier both in BC, park, and street. You know absolutely nothing about the guy and really just discredited an entire career of hard work and top tier skiing because the man threw on track pants and decided to have fun for the past few years. Go watch his old videos, you’ll realize he actually dominated in every single different style of skiing, so much to the point where he decided to literally invent a style. Even if you think it’s whack it doesn’t take away from anything he’s done in the past, which again, you clearly know absolutely nothing about… clueless comment.

This is actually kinda facts. He blew up in recent years because of the new swerve style, but he was fucking unreal. People need to watch his backcountry content because it becomes pretty obvious that although usually he’s just messing around, he’s a phenomenal skier and has an extremely solid background. Dude is just stoked to ski and loves to get other people hype, love that dude

Hahaha was definitely a harsh criticism but I stand by most of it. I've watched him since he won superunknow, don't need to tell me about his career. Like I said he's a fantastic jibber, obviously good in the air, and has tons of fun. but there's still a world of difference between his traditional skiing skills and a guy like eder's.

1st, I think you'd be surprised how similar they are.

Knowing literally nothing about magnus, his arm waving during this run looks a hell of a lot similar to Candide, who is at least the goat of the fwt, if not all freeskiing.
