Hey im looking to ditch america after i graduate and was hoping to move to BC and utilize my teaching degree, looking in and around Nelson... You guys think that is a good place to live? any help or comments would be appreciated

Nelson is possible the raddest place I have ever been. Everyone is chill, very nice town, good ski hill.

Overall, it's just an amazing place to live. I would definitely suggest living there.

the closest mountain is whitewater.

im not sure on the schooling, but im sure someone else can help you with that.

I'm heading out there too.

So far I've heard it's pretty laid back, not much else though. Pretty small too, only 9000 people.

google british columbia college of teachers. I was thinking about doing teachers college in BC and it was very helpful.

there should be college of the rockies through most ski towns i know theres one in golden and fernie i live in fernie and the ski scene is super awesome

"nomensteven" has gone to school at selkirk in Nelson for ski resort management. so you could talk to him.

most of my friends (i live in rossland) went to selkirk in castlegar, and all i know is that the castlegar campus is more based on industry and trades, while the nelson campus is based more on the arts. but there may be some cross over classes.

or something like that, i'm just a ski bum, i don't know about all this school shit really.

I'm doin that right now. But yeas, Selkirk in Nelson has 2 campuses. One is all trades, and the other has arts and tourism. Did I mention Nelson is radical?

He mentoned that he wants to use his teaching dregree, not get one. My mom being in the school system she always tells me just how hard it is to get employment here. Pretty tight right now i believe.
