Neighborhoods in or around SLC

I already checked past forums and couldn't find this thread but I was wondering what are good areas to buy or rent a house on the SLC area that aren't to far from the mountains. Looking for an area that has young families(30 somethings). Any info would be great!!

millcreek.... thats where im trying to get a house. Best access to the mountains if you dont want to choose between pc/canyons and big cottonwood.
Other than that, theres sugarhouse which is decent, or you can go further over into cottonwood heights if you want a place near Alta access.

I live in sugarhouse and its pretty great. House backs fremont (or fairmont?) park and the whole area is a pretty nice quiet part of SLC.

9th and 9th is a good area too. Avenues is nice but its alittle further from the freeways to get to the mtns than the other neighborhoods.

There is no shortage of young families in Utah, don't even worry about that; you'll find it in virtually every neighborhood.

pretty much anywhere east of I-15 is a safe bet. South Salt Lake may be a little sketchy but thats about it.

south salt lake sucks ass. do not move there or the east part of west valley, they are pretty terrible parts of town.

all the above reccomendations are good, sugarhouse is a pretty rad place. downtown is decent too, but that's more apts when you get more towards the capitol.
