Need your opinions! Sigma 28mm f/1.8 lens

Im going to order a new lens today and am looking for a somewhat wide angle fast shooting lens to be shipped here tomorrow before I head out to whistler.

What are your opinions of this lens? Not looking to spend more then 300.

I'm not the SLR lens expert, but if I'm not mistaken, can't you just buy a used MF lens made by Nikon or Canon? It's generally a crime to put bad glass in front of your camera.

its no where near really good glass but I think itll be a hell of a lot better then the standard lens i have now.

Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with that lens.
